Welcome to SBNation from Blazer's Edge

I am the Official Ambassador to Dream Shake from Blazer's Edge and I would like to extend a very warm welcome to The Dream Shake - The Best Houston Rockets Blog. When Dave (the Blogger-in-Chief at Blazer's Edge) announced that he want BEdgers (it's what we call ourselves) to volunteer to be ambassadors to the other SBNation blogs I was most unhappy to find that there wasn't one for the Rockets (yet). But I thought I would look to see if there was a blog that might be acceptable to Dave in spite of their not belonging to SBNation. Upon visiting The Dream Shake, I was elated to find an announcement that your blog would soon join SBNation. I immediately reqested the opportunity to be the Official Ambassador to Dream Shake from Blazer's Edge, and Dave granted me this privilege.

I have long admired the Houston Rockets franchise as they seem to always be genuine contenders for an NBA Championship and have succeeded twice. There is also the fact one of the greatest Blazers of all time (Clyde Drexler) was unable to acquire a ring until he joined the Rockets. More currently the Rockets have acquired former Oregon Duck Point Guard Aaron Brooks, a player that I really like, and I hope will be successful as a Houston Rocket. You also have an other former Blazer, Von Wafer (we called him Baron Von Wafer) who was never really given much of a chance to do much as a Blazer, but seemed like he had some potential to be a solid role player if given a chance to really learn a system and was given some significant playing time.

I also wanted you all to know that I and many others at Blazer's Edge share your hatred of the Utah Jazz. There is not enough room in a single fanpost for me to expound upon length, breadth and depth of this hatred. The only other team that inspires this much is the Flakers. Don't even get me started on that topic.

I am really hoping that during the 2008-2009 season that some level of sportsman like camaraderie can develop between Dream Shake and Blazer's Edge that will enhance everyone's enjoyment of the coming NBA season. If there is anything that I can do to help the members of Dream Shake feel more at home in SBNation, please feel free to post requests either here or over at Blazer's Edge. I will be visiting here on most days to keep up on all the latest important Rockets news. I will also be establishing a separate email account specifically for the purpose of facilitating communication with your members.

Oh, and one more thing - Hakeem the Dream really does OWN Shaq! (also known as fatass) Always Has - Always Will!

Yours truly,
LaMarvelous

You also forgot to mention Rick Adleman …..the 2nd greatest Blazer coach of all time (114th greatest Warriors coach of all time ….but that is another story) . Anyway….Rockets fans …..good luck in the upcoming season. Hope injuries/Artest don’t become an issue for you. Beat the Jazz!!!

Welcome, Dream Shake!

Have a great time here at SB Nation. And don’t hesitate to stop over to Blazer’s Edge whenever you want to talk Blazers – we’d love to have you!

Welcome indeed

Drop by to the Bedge and tell us what Oden has to do to be as good as Hakeem. We know he’s got a long way to go, but we’re hoping someday….

Welcome!

And just as everyone has said, come on by to Blazer’s Edge for some great bball talk. We are friendly and don’t bite (except jscot sometimes…)

When asked about his thoughts during the Olympic games about playing against Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard, Rudy responded "My first thought was respect. My second thought was to kick their ass".

Man I love him.

Yeah, welcome!

And congrats on the Artest deal. I recall Dave (blogger-in-chief) saying that watching Artest play the blazers last year was like watching a food processor/blender roam free through a field of marshmallow peeps. Here’s hoping you guys have a good year.

Hi Rocket fans!

Like everyone has mentioned, c’mon by. Especially if you’re going to say wicked things about the Jazz or Lakers. And you ought to see our game day threads — they’re crazy!

FYI, I was listening to a Blazers radio show a couple of weeks ago, and our broadcasters are pretty high on the Rockets. Our main TV guy, Mike Barrett, is predicting them to be 2nd in the west.

Good luck this year, except on Nov 6, Feb 24, and April 5.

Welcome

I have been way above average calling who will do what in the finals for the the last 10 years even if I did bomb last year,my call is Rockets take Boston in 7.Next year"Houston you have a problem"and it wears Black and Red.

Hi Rocket Fans & Welcome

Please tell Artest to take it easy on Brandon Roy… he has Brandon’s #.

Also, many on Blazer’s Edge see Shane Battier as our # 1 target in trade proposals for a small forward. It would be great to hear your thoughts on a Battier trade. Do we even have any players you would like that we could stand to part with?

by tweener on Oct 25, 2008 5:13 PM CDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

OK

We’ll give you Shavlik Randolph for Battier. Deal?

Oh, we’ll throw in a second round draft pick, we’ve got a few of those.

No? Oh, well. We like our roster, too. But we do like Battier, if we could somehow steal him when no one is looking.

The most amazing thing about my amazing ego is I have amazingly little about which to be egotistical.

"You're really making me feel good about myself, little man," says Oden as he starts dancing after scoring a goal. "You better come harder than that."

Shouldn't you be getting ready for a show or something?

When asked about his thoughts during the Olympic games about playing against Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard, Rudy responded "My first thought was respect. My second thought was to kick their ass".

hey all these commenters are from Blazers Edge!

All except Montavilla Steve. Hey Twiggs! Hey Amlmart1! Hey Tweener! Wow this place is just like heaven because I get to hang out with all my favorite people all the time.

Where are the Rocket fans? Maybe they’re all in therapy.

And the winner is … Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Remember him—the great Democratic president who saved capitalism from the capitalists by reining in their exorbitant greed? Forget the Reagan Revolution heralding a new era of small government, which turned out to be nothing more than a fig leaf for legalized corporate crime. The hero of the hour is FDR, as the essential wisdom of his New Deal is now embraced by most Republicans as well as Democrats.

Yeah, I love the support guys...

but I was hoping to make a connection here with some of the Rockets fans.

Well here’s hoping that I still can.

Rockets fan here

I must say I’d actually like to see a some change in the hierarchy of the Western Conference and I see the Blazers to be the ideal candidate to do so successfully and for a long time. You have a young team, lots of talent and potential and it will be very interesting to see what will happen with your team this coming season.

Furthermore I am an Aldridge supporter!

P.s. This is my first Rockets blog post ever.

Excitedly nervous in 08.

We shouldn't say "fight"

about a team that has Artest on it now. Say “challenge”.

Best of luck to the Rockets. If we beat you, I hope it is against your full team, not an injury ravaged team.

Houston is, to me, the most dangerous team to the “established order” of top teams this year. If you want a change in the hierarchy, I think you should look a lot closer to home than Portland, for this year. Next year? We’ll be a major threat to win it all next year, but you guys are a threat now.

What's with the Horry love?

He gave us fits as a L*ker, but he’s not Rick F*x, so I agree to the terms.

Sorry it took some time adjusting to the new site but glad to be here.

One more BEdger

Robert Horry belongs in the Hall of Fame. Anyone with that many rings that he actually contributed to belongs in the Hall. He is a winner and a true champion. Here’s hoping the Blazers can pick him up in the next year or two for a championship run. He should be good for a few three pointers and key defensive stops.

Funny

I honestly didn’t read the quote in the right margin before I wrote that. I did agree to your terms about Horry not getting criticism of course. I do think he belongs in the Hall of Fame someday.

Just getting used to SBNation

I didn’t see this until just now. I knew the FanPosts existed but just never knew where to look for them. Now that I see it, I’ll check here a lot.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.
