Around SBN: Jeremy Lin Continues Rampage, New York Wins On Road

CP3 is good at impersonations

Chris Paul's box score line from last night:

35 minutes,
2-10 FG
8-8 FT
3 rebounds
12 assists
3 turnovers

A stat line only Tracy McGrady could appreciate.  I was right there watching the whole thing. I cannot believe that ABZ was able to neutralize CP3.  Nicely done, Aaron!  A game I thought would be closely contested the whole way ended up being mostly "over" by the 2nd quarter.

Rockets now 6-4, but could ever-so-easily be 9-1... and that's with no Battier, Artest being rather invisible and T-Mac shooting like Rafer.

(And our first matchup with Utah is still over a month away.)

AB and Head did an OK job on Paul

but really Paul and that whole team seemed really flat. Paul couldn’t buy wide open looks.

Thank God we have T-Mac that can play point in emergency situations. With Brooks getting in foul trouble, we’d be stuck with Head playing the point were it not for T-Mac.

oh but he did

Head played the PG for about 3 possessions in the 3rd Q. Results? Two turnovers and one play where McGrady took the ball right out of his hands and basically said “please get the f—k away from me”

Luther might be the worst post-entry passer of all time.

luther head passing

yeah that was ugly….as bill and cylde said, he should be at the end of the play, not the start of it.

T-Mac

Couldn’t shoot 8-8 from the line or have 12 assists. That said, I have really liked his game the past few days. He’s taking it strong to the hoop instead of settling for outside, contested jumpers (although if he’s on fire I wouldn’t mind it). Ball movement has been pretty good. The offense does run smoother with Rafer in, that’s something Brooks has got to learn, how to direct the offense. Artest still hasn’t fit into the offensive scheme very well, he doesn’t seem to know where to go when moving without the ball, and relies on 1-on-1 way too much. Just some thoughts.

When did we decide to call Aaron Brooks “ABZ” anyway? What does it mean?

Good call

Especially since that other one is a not-nice thing you say to Aboriginals in Australia…

That was my little gem

The Z is for Zero. It’s literally the only thing I’ve contributed to society in my life, don’t crap on it Jeffrey!
