Scola > Collison
I heard a rumor that the announcer for the Durants said something to the effect of "Nick Collison is a better player than Luis Scola"... and if so, I'd like to present Exhibits A and B for the jury:
Exhibit A:
10-20 FG, 3-3 FT, 23 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal.
Exhibit B:
2-4 FG, 4 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 0 steals and 0 blocks.
Surprise, surprise, but Exhibit A is actually the stat line for this guy:
(and by "this guy" I mean the guy NOT fouling the hell out of the guy with the ball.)
Luis Scola is a badass. Live it, learn it, and love to accept it.
I just hope he doesn't have to be a super-badass and be the Big One while Yao, T-Mac and Crazy Pills all play with pain/injuries. Seriously, how can all 3 of those guys get hurt in the same game!?!?

What I typed
Was word for word what he said.
“Luis Scola is good, but Nick Collison is much better.”
I realize you’re just trying to be a responsible blogger – so as a responsible blogger myself, I’m posting this so people can see the actual quote.

Is there any word yet on The Big 3? My sense is that McGrady is basically ok, Yao is hopefully just in a bit of pain on his surgically repaired foot, and Ron just got a mild 1-2 game ankle twist.
Here’s hoping.

So far what I've seenn
Artest has a sprained ankle and thinks he’ll be fine
Yao says he should be okay
Tracy is going to get an MRI today if possible. He said his knee is just as bad now as it was before surgery. That’s the big uh-oh

Blazer fan here
Everyone should know by now that Scola has a lot of game. Don’t they get Olympic broadcasts in Oklahoma?
Collison is better fitted so shining Scola’s shoes than being compared to him on the court.

that should read
“better fitted for”
Anyway, I can almost understand not noticing how good Scola is at basketball since it’s easy to be distracted by his all-NBA ugly mug, but after a year in the NBA and a summer of olympics to watch the guy work that’s hardly an excuse for a professional broadcaster.

figures
T-Mac says his knee is just as bad as before……?
Yeah, I had a feeling he’s the type where surgery would only make things worse. Ugh.

How dumb do you think
San Antonio feels for letting our GM genious steal Scola from them??

too busy
San Antonio is too busy laughing at Steve Kerr… who is like Santa Claus to the Spurs and Thunder.

Luis Scola aside...
There aren’t many power forwards in the NBA that Nick Collison is “much better than.” Seriously. He would be a solid backup- but that means he’s only “much better” than players who suck. I wouldn’t have described him as “much better” than any of our power forwards.
