Game 15 - Houston Rockets at Miami Heat, Monday 6:30PM CST
This is going to be short and sweet. The Rockets take on the Miami Heat tonight. At 7-6, they aren't really surprising as that's about the type of record they'll have at the end of the year. They're 5-2 at home and 2-4 on the road, I expect that trend to continue the rest of the year.
The Rockets finally played a complete game on Saturday night. They would have won by more if they had continued to feed the ball down to Yao. And tonight they should be able to beat the Heat.
My prediciton: The Rockets should win

The matchups
Look pretty good. Would have liked to have read your take on them, but I did notice that you aren’t going to do that for a while. C’mon….give your take!!

Matchups
I will do them for pretty much every game. Today just caught me off guard with a big project at work. I will do my best to never let that happen again.
They’ll be up for Wednesday’s game. In fact, I’ll be attending the game as well

No worries with the matchups
I know how it is. I’ll actually be flying into Houston on Wed. afternoon and can’t wait. Can’t catch the game but at least I’ll have local tv.

I would go, too, but....
I’d definitely be at the game, except I have to be at work all weekend getting ready for trial. So, uh, yeah – no free time to watch the Rockets. Until mid-December.

56-48 at the half
10 turnovers are keeping Miami in the game.

I love this
Yao looks healthy and Miami has no one even near big enough to stop him.

Rafer
can this man go one week without getting T’d up???
by Daniel C on Nov 24, 2008 8:23 PM CST 0 recs
I think Rafer is tied for third in the NBA in techs this season after that T.

seriously
Someone needs to tell Rafer he’s not good enough to get T’d up.

ROFL
From the Sun-Sentinel:
How volatile is the Rockets’ roster? At one point in the first quarter, Ron Artest was trying to talk sense into Rafer Alston.

delusional
I seriously think Rafer believes he’s that good… first he survives his DUI trial, then the Rockets keep him for a 4th season (against my wishes)… and lately he’s been making completely atypical “clutch” 4th Q shots. So, he goes and gets T’d up with regularity and makes Ron Artest look like the sensible one. Wow.

Turnovers
Our point guards account for half the team’s turnovers. Sheesh.

alas, his kryptonite
Dwyane Wade is powerless when facing referees who don’t call ticky-tack fouls.

I still beat your “I forgot to bench Brandon Jacobs even though David told me he wasn’t playing” ass by all of 0.04 points in another league.

I thought about making a fanpost about this
But alas, a comment will suffice. I find what Hollinger said interesting last night in the Daily Dime with this final comment on the Rox win in Miami:
In the meantime, this was exactly why they picked up Artest — he enables Houston to survive the grind that takes such a toll on Yao and T-Mac. With 15 games gone, Artest still on his best behavior and a quarter of the Rockets’ road games out of the way, they have to like where they stand after a bumpy first four weeks.
I always railed against Artest with the Kings because they A didn’t have any shot blockers for him to work on the perimeter with, and B his offensive contributions didn’t make much difference when he was simply taking shots away from Kevin Martin. I think the Rockets made a great decision picking up Ron, but the cursory point that the Rockets need to stay healthy is still there.
That being said, one way I think to keep everybody healthy is play the bench a bit more, and use Ron in the stressful situations to keep the team afloat playing difficult schedules like the past 4 weeks. (Trust me I understand. The Kings didn’t play as tough a sched as the Rox, but lord, at 5-11, I’m still impressed with the job Reggie Theus has done.) Likewise, I wonder if Adelman will ever run into contention with a Coach of the Year award. If there’s anybody due, it would be Rick.

Oui bad comment on Artest
I meant to say “he didn’t have shotblockers to funnel inside while he was on the perimeter.”
