Game 25 Houston Rockets vs. Denver Nuggets, Tuesday 7:30PM CST

Denver Nuggets at Houston Rockets, Dec 16, 2008 7:30 PM CST

Game_25_nuggets_header_medium

I have a busy day today, so this is going to be short and sweet (probably more crappy than sweet, but you get the point)

The Match-Ups:

Billups will own Brooks, he's too strong to be stopped by him.  That said, Brooks will get his points, hopefully he passes well tonight

McGrady owns a big edge here.

Carmelo went down early in our last game, the Nuggets still won.  With a full game from him it could be difficult.  Battier will play some strong defense, but Melo is a big guy.

Scola is better than Martin, there, I said it

Yao will destroy Nene, it won't be close.  No high altitude to harm him this time.  Yao will be the difference in this game.

If any of you have any points of view on this game, feel free to put them in the comments, I'm going to go ahead and publish this now.

J.R. Smith destroyed the Mavericks last night...

He scored 17 points in the 4th quarter. If we get Artest back and we play good defense we have a pretty good chance. Too bad Steve Francis is out of shape…. “We want Steve”

We started the first quarter strong

But then kinda fizzed out near the end with a sloppy turnover by Hayes, then multiple lapses on the defensive end including a ridiculous 3-pt play off a missed FT. Man…

TMac

I love when we see TMac out there and not Tracy
He’s 1 assist from a triple double

by UofTOrange on Dec 16, 2008 9:16 PM CST reply actions

And he gets it

And there is time left in the 3rd quarter

I just looked at the stats

And I had absolutely no idea that Artest had 10 points

I'm loving Chauncey's 6 shots and 6 points.

Everyone questioned if we could guard him tonight without Rafer. Um, yes, we can.

This has nothing to do with the Rockets

But I just finished making some jambalaya, and it rules in every possible way

I really miss Gene and Jim

Ackerman does a good job, but it’s just not the same

Wish I'd heard them

But I can’t say I listened to them much. Too bad that I missed their era.

They are the greatest basketball announcers in history

It’s not close

They are doing the 4th quarter right now, but the online feed is about 30 seconds behind the live stuff. I’m listening anyway just to hear them one last time

Carmelo is good

But honestly, I thought he’d be great by now

by UofTOrange on Dec 16, 2008 9:39 PM CST reply actions

He got close

And then…well, I’m not really sure what happened. He’s only a pure scorer, doesn’t do a whole lot else.

Rawn does not miss from the top of the key, by the way.

I'm still upset with him

He ruined TJ Ford and the Longhorn’s Final Four run

Nothing to do with the Rockets

But John Salmons has 20 of the Kings’ 31 points right now. Remind anyone of McGrady in his Orlando days?

I'd also like to take this non-Rockets moment

to say all of you that knocked DJ Augustin as an NBA player were WRONG.

Another awesome night 29 points, 7 assists

Yao's shot chart is awesome

Only 3 of his 19 shots have come outside of the deep paint

by UofTOrange on Dec 16, 2008 9:46 PM CST reply actions

15, 14 and 10 by McGrady

Thank you for doing what I’ve wanted from you for 3 years Tracy.

This has been a magnificent game. Two high quality teams going right at each other and playing good ball.

Yao has been superb tonight. Dominant and controlling the paint on either end of the court.

Tracy has been fantastic. He’s changing the course of the game and doing without scoring, and making life easier for his teammates.

Defense was what won the game

18 point 3rd and 17 point 4th for the Nuggets
