The wrong kind of deja vu

Things I learned tonight...

do not ask the Rockets if they have change for a dollar.
Because they only have three quarters.

Tracy, at first your shenanigans were cheeky and fun.  Now they are sad and tragic.  Which makes them not shenanigans at all.  The next time you shoot an off balance three when someone else is open, Coach Sleepy should, ummm, well....

Shenanigans_medium

A bit of advice...

STOP SHOOTING UNNECESSARY AND OFF-BALANCE THREE-POINTERS, ASSHOLE!!!

note: We didn't lose because of McGrady. But he certainly didn't help our chances in the last 6 seconds. Or the last 12 minutes.

To be fair to McGrady,

that was (somewhat unbelievably, I might add) his first missed 3-pointer of the night. And he only shot four the whole game. He was shooting well the whole game, and that’s probably why Adelman gave him the ball.

At the same time, a pick was probably not the best way to get T-Mac a shot. You don’t have too much time, so there’s not a lot you can do, but there’s probably enough to get the ball to Yao and kick out or something.

If I were Adelman, the only thing I’d probably do differently in that last possession would be taking out Artest and replacing him with Von Wafer.

Agree

I don’t think this goes on McGrady. It goes on everyone. We just gave them the game at the end.

the problem

McGrady shouldn’t be shooting that shot EVER.
We get ourselves into this mess by hitting a couple 3s in a row in the third Q and somehow get into a chucking contest between Rafer/Tracy/Ron. And then the inevitable happens… we shoot ourselves out of a game.

The deficit was 2. Pass the damn ball to Yao.

I will admit, Tracy played MUCH better today… he just disappeared like normal in the last 12 minutes.

Not today man

don’t even try to blame him for this loss, because he’ll have to step in line behind others like Yao (not really showing up till the end), Artest not even getting double digits in points, Rafer struggling with his shot, Aaron Bricks building another house, and in general the team missing so many open looks. Also, our terrible fast break execution. We HAVE to work on that in our next practice.

T-Mac shouldn’t be shooting that shot at the end. I agree. But more importantly, WHAT THE HELL is Yao doing out there in the perimeter setting a pick for McGrady? He should be in the low block IMMEDIATELY. That is on Adelman.

I miss JVG.

JVG

I don’t think JVG misses us so much anymore.
He spent 3 years building up Tracy’s ego… for nothing.

TWO players had a good game

Scola and Landry kicked ass.
And were not allowed to play in the final two possessions. Odd.

Agreed that Yao needed to get the ball on the last posession

But Tracy did have a good game. Rafer…jesus.

he seemed a little more focused

i’ll be happy if he could do what he did tonight in every game. drive and dish, pick and roll

but as soon as i saw him injure his knee and wince in pain, i knew thats asking for too much

rafer

.. is back to being rafer.. he racked up assists though

should have left yao in during those final minutes

even though he wasnt doin jack on the defensive end, he was doin more than enough to make up for it on the offensive

Also, who were the refs today?

Yao and T-Mac were getting smacked around out there with no calls.

oh, I loved those days

I miss those days. Von and Scola tearing it up when Yao needed help. Simple formula.

brent barry = clutch?

lets think back to election day. . .

103-99, enough time left to come within 1 and potentially take/tie the game based on free throws made by the celtics.

mcgrady looks like he’s going for the 3, gets doubled, rises up, but dishes to barry who chunks up. . . . . .an airball. whatever clutchness barry had, he left it in san antonio.

good game by tmac tonight (for 3 quarters, sure, but better than none). yao and artest really stunk this one up on both ends of the floor.
