So someone told me a writer compiled the list of the "Top 10 Best Sports Blogs" in Houston. Of course, because someone was trying to fuck with me... they failed to mention that Richard Justice's excuse for a "blog" was #1. Sick joke.

You either love him or hate him, which is exactly what a great blog is supposed to be.

No, a good blog should be insightful and interesting . Richard Justice is just a blathering asshole.

His blog isn’t just one of the best in the city, it’s one of the best in the country.

He updates it constantly, gets insider news no one else can get, tries to keep it entertaining.

If by “gets insider new no one else can get” you mean “sucks up to his sources and writes like an idiot” and by “tries to keep it entertaining” you mean “can’t tell his ass from a hole in the ground,” you’re right.

More than anyone in the city, he evokes a response.

Quanell X evokes a response, too. Doesn’t mean he’s good.

He is the authority on baseball in the city, and one of the best baseball writers in the country.

In all honesty, I have never really thought too highly of anything he’s written. I’ll admit that his baseball writing is his best work, but that’s not saying much.

Would take over the No. 1 spot if he would update it more. Unlike Justice, Zierlein isn’t polarizing; it’s hard not to like him. Has an everyman spin that plays well in Houston along with great sports knowledge.

In other words: Zierlein knows what he’s talking about and provides meaningful commentary. Justice does not.

Like I said in the intro, I didn’t vote. Of the omissions, I actually like The Dream Shake quite a bit and it would make my top 10 over a couple near the bottom.
