Warrior fan here
Wussup Dream Shake, are you guys ready for opening night on wednesday against us, the Dubs? I think it will be a great game, as Ariza is actually going to be a focal point for your guys' offense. I want to see him without Kobe, Pau, and the rest of the lakers. I'm extremely excited as a Warrior fan to start the season, as we have had some drama and turmoil, but I really would like to skip that and be happy with the talent we have. We probably will not be very good, but who knows it is a talented roster that can make plays. As for you guys, a perennial playoff contender, it won't be easy because of no Yao and no Tmac, and the loss of Artest. But Aaron Brooks, Scola, and Ariza are a decent young core. So both of these teams have young talent, and it should make up for a good game Wednesday night in Oakland. My prediction is 117-113 Warriors on top, but hey that's just my warrior in me. Thoughts?Predictions? And Good Luck for your 09-10 season!
No cursing in title. No pirated material, such as links to online game streams. Thanks.

Houstons opening night is Tuesday vs Blazers.
M 80- So what does Portland give up? Big D- Nothing, Pritchard is such a genius that teams just give him players for free. (Comments from Blog a Bull on July 9, 2009)

JWise is correct.
The Rockets are your team’s first opponent of the season.
But the Rockets play the Blazers the night before…
I had to stop arguing with drunks, Steeler fans, and all other fools.
It was making my brick wall jealous...

I don’t see Ariza being the main focal point of the Rocket offense…
I think it may be Scola or Brooks most nights. I think Ariza is the #2 behind one of those 2 guys.
Yeah, we are looking forward to the season too, despite the fact that (without making a trade for a superstar) we may not make the playoffs.
I think most rational Rocket fans look upon this season as a tune-up for the 2010-2011 season.
This season is time to get our young guys lots of experience in the NBA.
Hopefully, that experience will benefit the club in 2010-2011…

Oddly enough
The Rockets schedule starts similarly to last year’s. First game at home, next game on the road the very next night in a hostile environment against a team opening their season. Last year, we went Memphis at home then Mavs in Dallas. I thought we’d split, but we went 2-0, and I remember the excitement over the season. Two nights later, my Texas Tech Red Raiders shocked the nation and upset the top-seeded Texas Longhorns. All in all, a great week for me.
Now, the Raiders lose to the Aggies (big) and we open with Portland and GSW on the road. Not looking great.
Also, I want to say good luck to your Warriors this season. I hope the turmoil dies down and the team gets a lot out of its talent. I love the athletic ability on that team, and I hope they do well. I don’t want them to do well against the Rockets, but I’m sure you’d say the same thing to me, in reverse of course.
How many Biletnikoffs does he have? NOT TWO!

good luck with your team. We will have issues. I’ve seen Ariza before he played with the lakers. He is offensively challenged at best. Its going to be difficult to hit 3’s when somebody is in your face versus wide open because the dbl team rotation is busy occupying kobe, or pau. He can’t dribble more than 1 or 2 bounces, so speaking as a former coach, what do you do? you crowd him, and make him put it on the floor to get his points. I realize he’s probably aware this will happen, and he’s probably busting his butt, working on his handle, but that’s something that you develop when you’re learning the game. At this point, his handle will never be much more than what it is now. We will have trouble this year, unless several players have career years. Battier would have to avg 16-18 pts a game, plus 7 rebs a game…..um not going to happen. Scola, while capable of avg those numbers, will find it difficult without Yao beside him, Landry, doesn’t have the confidence or minutes to do it. Plus he’s on the small side for a power forward. 6-7 won’t cut it out. Dorsey is only 6-7 also. I say give Pops Mensa playing time, and see if we can develop him, his confidence, and game into a Ben Wallace/McDyess type high energy role player. If Yao comes back next year, we will need that type of athleticism sharing court time.

Good Game
I hope this is how the Rockets play for the rest of the year. They just need to sharpen up their defense and get Landry on a roll again. Anyawys, good win though. GS, good luck with your season.

Us Rocket fans should be encouraged by the fact…
… they won a close game like this. Most other teams that are in the Rockets situation lose the close games like this one.
Let’s hope this means good things for the team as the season goes on…
