Jermaine Taylor

hello,

I am a fan of the Orlando Magic, but I have a couple quick questions regarding Jermaine Taylor. Jermaine went to my high school (Tavares High School if anyone is interested) and is the best athlete to perhaps ever come out of it. Naturally, I am quite interested to hear how he is doing, so i thought id ask you guys. How does he look and do you think he will be a successful NBA player? Thank you for your time.

I believe Taylor will have at least a decent NBA career.

He didn’t play last night for some reason. But I think once he gets over being a rookie, he will become a solid player someday…

I think his ceiling is probably Jamario Moon-style starter (on a mediocre team) or solid role player (on a good team). His worst case scenario is that his game doesn’t grow to match his athleticism and he becomes James White.

In either case, I don’t expect to see much of him on the court this year, but that doesn’t mean the Rockets won’t be developing him behind the scenes. Steeler-hater’s got it right: down the road he’ll be a solid player.

I think Taylor is a better scorer than Moon

Moon is a great athlete and can play both sides of the ball well, but I think Jermaine Taylor is a better shooter and more explosive on the offensive end, he did lead the NCAA in scoring last year.

Sorry, I didn’t mean to compare Taylor’s game specifically to Moon’s, I just thought their roles would be similar since, in the end, they both live and die by their athleticism. Hopefully Taylor doesn’t have to take such a circuitous route to NBA respect.

he'll be fine

He’s going to assume the role Von Wafer had for us last year…
and like Von, they are going to slowly work Taylor into the rotation.

Wow… Taylor actually got onto the floor last night!

Too bad it was only for the last 1 1/2 & nobody on the floor then did anything…
