Rockets rocking the boat...huh??

Apparently the Rockets had to take a boat across the bay to get to the game tonight. A cable on the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge snapped yesterday forcing the Rox to take either a longer, earlier bus or a ferry with the general public. They chose ferry.

Check it out here: http://www.nba.com/2009/news/10/28/rockets.ferry.ap/index.html

#1 thing I hate about League Pass:

inability to select which audio feed you want. There are very few non-homer broadcasters out there, and if I have to listen to a homer, at least let it be Bill and Clyde.

True

but for a fan in Lubbock, TX where you don’t get the game, any video is good video. You can mute the audio.

And I know we want to stop putting up 3rd-party streams, so I thought I would pass the info on to anyone else who wants to watch, since it doesn’t get more legit than NBA’s own site.

Aaron Brooks story

I’m the only Rockets fan in my area (North Carolina) so I always try to convince my friends to go out to a bar when the game is on so I can de-facto watch the game with people, even if they are just drinking and don’t follow the team at all.

Anyway, the first time I did that and Aaron Brooks came on screen, my friend goes “I know that guy.” They both went to Oregon and evidently played poker together. He didn’t even know Brooks was drafted.

by Moondebah on Oct 28, 2009 10:46 PM CDT up reply actions

what?

Brooks plays poker? He might be my new favorite healthy Rocket not named “Scola” if that’s true.

by grungedave on Oct 28, 2009 11:01 PM CDT up reply actions

So what my friend said was that they had a poker group and Brooks showed up occasionally. I asked if he was any good and he said “he wasn’t bad but he threw money around because he knew he was getting paid.”

Watch Budinger off the ball on offense.

I don’t know if it is his catch-and-shoot mentality or what, but he’s running a clinic on the motion offense. He’ll camp in a spot for a two-count, and if he doesn’t get the ball he’s out of there. Compare that to Artest or even Scola or Ariza, who hang around and demand the ball a little longer and bog things down.

Whew, that was closer than it needed to be.

But for those saying Curry’s shot looked bad? Not in the 4th – his shot is even smoother than Ellis’. GS is such a weird team, if they just played with the slightest discipline they’d be a force. But they don’t, so we win on their home court, again.

I’m very happy to see the return of Rockets offense, and have to say, Chase Budinger looks good. And he’s not short, is he? That’s helpful.

Always good to get off the snide

Good all around team effort. Double-double’s by ABZ and Scola plus 25 from Ariza is a pretty good recipe for a win. Landry came up huge in the 4th after struggling the first 7 quarters of the season. 14 steals! 30 assists! Thats how we are going to have to win this season.

I love Budinger’s shooting stroke.

1-1

Didn't get to see the game last night

But watched it this morning. It is a win, and happened similar to how I thought it would. This team has no closer, and it will be a struggle every game.

Ariza looked good, but that break away he had on the steal where he was staring at the ball as he dribbled and it was a complete epic fail. He is a terrible ball handler, but he does try very hard.
