Houston rivals.
Everyone but Lakers fans hate the Lakers, but I can’t keep fathoming why the polls on Rockets.com keep saying the Lakers are the Rockets’ rival.
I’ve always felt that Utah was Houston’s rival. We’ve consistently matched up in the playoffs in two distinct (but recent) eras: the Dream vs. Malone/Stockton era and the Yao/Landry vs. Williams/Boozer era. Hard fought series year after year with just a dash of bad blood. THAT’S what makes a rival.
Yeah, San Antonio, Dallas, and NO are just down the road and in our division, but I don’t hate any of them. In fact, with SAS and NO, I kinda wish them well if the outcome of the game doesn’t hurt Houston (or, for some reason, Portland).
As for Dallas: they’re on their way to becoming on of those teams that is consistently mediocre/good just because their owner throws copious money at people that makes up for their careless mistakes. And those are the teams that everyone loves to hate (like LA and Boston). But they aren’t there yet, so they get my ambivalence.

I dunno about least interesting.
Having been to both, I’d rather go to SLC than Milwaukee, for example.
The mountains are really beautiful, the skiing is great. There are literally HORDES of beautiful women – all with about 4 babies each.

True enough.
Actually, it’s worse than looking at you funny. You have to order food if you have a drink, and you can’t have too many within a certain span of time. Not true in Park City, as I remember, though, so stay there, ski, go to a game – all is well. And the people are very polite and helpful.
It’s odd really, how rabid they are about the jazz, compared to the general good manners and friendliness that prevail the rest of the time. I guess they have no other outlet than that.

In SLC, there isn’t much of a difference. There’s more people that frown upon it than in other cities around the nation, I’d assume, but there are plenty of people that are “normal Americans” as well.

In SLC… I’m sure most of the people here would sit down & drink as well.

An interesting matchup tonight is going to be ..
between Mehmet and Mehmet Lite (Anderson). This should be interesting to see if Anderson (as raw as he is) causes more trouble to Okur than Yao could.
I look forward to someone other than Ariza, or Brooks having a breakout game tonight.

You Rocket fans are pathetic, you wish that you had half of the franchise that we have here in SLC.
As for all the idiots that want to chime in about drinking in Salt Lake, you should really do your homework. Beer is something that we take serious here, I know that all you Houston fans are fine drinking Jacks Hard Lemonade, or a peach fuzzy navel, but the local brew pubs in Salt Lake continue to win national awards making some of the best craft beers in the USA.
Have fun watching the Rockets get drilled tonight as you enjoy your Smirnoff Razz a tazz.
My friends and I will be enjoying some of the best brews this world has to offer.
