Utah, Dallas or SA.

Bullard said Utah without hesitation.

Great block by Ariza!

The Rockets defense in this quarter has been really good except for a few small lapses on open 3s. In fact, that might actually be part of the defensive plan

At some point

you think people would realize that we’re a very good team without TMac and Yao, but it hasn’t happened yet. Yeah, we don’t have anybody who will make the cover of NBA Live, but there are 8 or 9 guys who are handily above average NBA players.

Welcome to The Dream Shake.

Andersen has a sweet shot. He looks like he knows what he’s doing out there.

He’s an NBA player, no doubt about it. His D is still tuned for a Euro game – soft in some areas, too much contact in others.

Can you tell us – does he have a nickname in Australia?

If the Red Nation apparatchiks start talking about a Five Year Plan, I'm out of here.

by Xiane on Nov 10, 2009 8:35 PM CST up reply actions

to be honest

he’s been in Europe for so long (he played one season in Australia in 1998-99 i think) that very very few of us here have actually seen him. . .

I think i’ve only ever seen him in Olympic/International play – and that’s obviously rare. .

so unfortunately no, we dont have a nickname here. . .he’s as ‘new’ to us as he is new to you ;) But im glad to finally get to see him play

He's been simply awesome so far this year. I want to see what he' do with 35 minutes a night.

But not tonight – guarding Dirk is tough for him – another foul.

by T-Mackin on Nov 10, 2009 9:52 PM CST up reply actions

A guy said it on our board tonight...

your team isn’t a bunch of superstars it’s a bunch of glue guys. Glue guys that are playing spectacular. And you guys have Pops one of my fav (though is time was short) ex-Mavs.

by bbob on Nov 10, 2009 9:53 PM CST up reply actions

I want to punch a hole in my moniter

Cannot believe we let that slip away. This is when I wish we had T-Mac.

More like choked it away, if we’re honest.

by DribbleHooper on Nov 10, 2009 9:50 PM CST up reply actions

As far as I’m concerned, Ariza’s overpaid. He’s dragging down the team shooting percentage like gangbusters.

And Battier… ugh.

by DribbleHooper on Nov 10, 2009 9:52 PM CST reply actions

This is a learning year for Ariza, really

Trying to become a major option, he’s pressing a lot. Unused to it.

I support the Tornado Release ... and Young Bucks.

by njd.aitken on Nov 10, 2009 9:56 PM CST up reply actions

he's still a rookie

he’ll have some nights off , same as some of our players. or have you forgotten.

by suzaku on Nov 10, 2009 9:57 PM CST up reply actions

Oh, I haven’t forgotten. Problem is, this team can’t afford to have three players taking slightly over 30% of the team’s shots, and only making 20% of those shots. With this team, there is very little margin for error.

I just hope this loss doesn’t come back to haunt the Rockets toward the end of the season, if they happen to be just a game or two out of the playoffs.

by DribbleHooper on Nov 10, 2009 11:32 PM CST up reply actions

He only had 7 attempts..and not all of them were bad ones.

he wasn’t forcing it, they just didn’t go down. plus most of his attempts were open enough.

by suzaku on Nov 11, 2009 1:13 AM CST up reply actions

Wow... our defense... horrible

unfortunately T-Mac would help us with that either.

Then again, it’s Dallas. Their core group of players have ALWAYS given us fits. Dirk, Terry, and Howard.

by goingforthecorner on Nov 10, 2009 9:56 PM CST reply actions

I know Dallas upgraded their talent

but do you get an idea form watching the game that teams are starting to learn how to play us?

That’s why we need to have other ways, other weapons to win aside from our uptempo style and ball movement. There isn’t just anyone YET skilled enough to take leadership and right the ship when nothing is working.

Oh well, all of this is tuition. We’re constantly learning. Not every game will look good. Go, Rockets!

by RoxBeliever on Nov 10, 2009 10:13 PM CST reply actions

We never do great in Dallas

Dallas is the other Utah. They just seem to almost always have our number at home.

Now on the road, it is a different story.
