Poll: Who should replace David Andersen?

David Andersen has been struggling to fit well into the Rockets game-plan.  There are several players sitting on the bench not getting any minutes that should be getting more minutes on the court.  We need all the help we can get from the limited talented players we have now.  So who do you think should be getting more minutes coming off the bench for this Houston Rockets team?

He’s a rookie less than 10 games into the season. Give him some time.

Take a look at Scola's record in 2008

He started off very slowly. It’s tough to adjust to the NBA game, and we should expect it to take Andersen a while.

Also, it’s Andersen, not Anderson.

i like how andersen is playing.....

but at the same time we need someone in the middle that is willing to take it to the rim if given a little bit of space. and i agree that the more time given to adjust the more comfortable he will get, he does have a nice shot and post up game, just needs to get the release off quicker. it didnt take long for dirk to figure out his move, thus the stuff in the 4th i believe. but i like what ive seen out of him so far and believe he will get better. at the same time id like for pops to get SOME minutes at least, see what he can do in the regular season.

Andersen provides some offense from the 5 spot

that Pops and Joey cant provide. Pops and Joey are basically the same player and only get their points from offensive rebounds. They are not an option at this point to run a play for, and dont stretch a defense like Andersen does.

Its basically an issue of offense vs. rebounding and defense

Two votes for Cook?

Wow, I didn’t realize that both Brian Cook and his mother were on this forum?

I think it is way too soon to “replace” Andersen.

He needs some more time to adjust to the NBA. He never played in this league before, only overseas…

We need to develop Andersen

yes his defense and rebounding is bad but teammates can step up for him in those roles. We need to get him acclimated to the NBA and comfortable on the offensive end so he’ll thrive when Yao returns.

Andersen will be a good backup center behind Yao for the future.

This season is gonna be used to get him used to being in the NBA.

Of course, should the Rockets somehow wind up with Chris Bosh (and Yao, too) then I expect Houston might try & trade Andersen away…

D.A. is ok for me

he just need to polish his potentials. Give him time, its too early and besides he shows
his versatility in offense, he needs to improve more on his D. So far hes developing.

I like..

Andersens pick and pop game, but his post game is pretty sad. His rebounding is even worse. That being said, he gives way more value than Pops & Dorsey. I would say his minutes are about where they should be.

Looks like Andersen may finally be catching on a little bit…

Let’s all hope so, anyways…

Scola took about 3 months transitioning from Euro play

We should expect the same from Andersen, he looked pretty good against LA :)
