hmmm
a little of column a, a little of column b.
I’m reminded of the Astros and Cecil Cooper – yeah, the players the Astros have generally aren’t that good, but Cooper made a bad situation much worse. Byron Scott, by all accounts, just doesn’t have the respect of his players, and (more importantly, perhaps) does not utilize the players he has properly.
At least that’s what ATH usually had to say about him, and they seem pretty smart.
Still, I wonder who is going to replace him.
Good point.
They’re going to get JVG, because nothing would be funnier than watching Paul grind out ISO after ISO on offense for 90% of a season.
Honestly? I haven’t a clue. This is not a great time to be hiring coaches.
If the Red Nation apparatchiks start talking about a Five Year Plan, I'm out of here.
I meant JVG as a joke.
They seem happy about the prospect. I like Van Gundy, but if stagnant offense is the question, JVG is not the answer.
The Bower/Floyd thing, I am rooting for it. High comedy. Because Bower is bound to get more respect from the team than Scott. Bound to. And Floyd? Yes, let’s go get this guy from the wreckage of his career, because that’s better than Scott, too.

well
at this point you could bring in a ficus to coach and get more respect from the players.
probably better offensive movement, too.
The Zen like wisdom of the ficus can be impressive.
But shedding leaves at the slightest disturbance? I don’t think it can stand up to the rigors of an 82 game season. Just think of the travel.
Maybe they could just let Chris Paul use a Magic 8-Ball for all coaching decisions?

I wouldn't want to give CP3 anything he can potentially throw at refs or opposing players.
how about a cardboard standee of Red Auerbach? It’s anthropomorphic, so the rookies can look to it as an example, and its constant pose reminds the team of the benefits of tough defense.
Brilliant!
Its a young team, so maybe a cardboard John Wooden?

I think Coach Ficus would really shine at postgame pressers.
Certainly be more interesting than most coaches, anyway.

Actually, it seems to me that if they already have a stagnant offense
JVG wouldn’t be a bad idea. The defense will get better, and the offense won’t get worse. It makes sense to me.
In this case, it was a lot the coach

Really, I thought that David West took a step back this season though I always thought he was overrated.
How do they get away with hiring their GM?!?!?!?!
So they fire Scott and they replace him with the GM? Does this move seem pretty bad to anyone else? The guy has some Asst. Coach experience in the past, but this seems odd…
