Here comes Conroy – 3rd PG.

Here comes a trade. Let it not be Rockets we love.

I have to say, I’m surprised. Pops looked pretty good pre-season. But hey, we definitely needed to get smaller…

If the Red Nation apparatchiks start talking about a Five Year Plan, I'm out of here.

I wouldn't be shocked to see Scola get traded this season

I love Scola as much as the next Rockets fan, but eventually we’re gonna have to unleash Landry.

Question.

I like Landry and his explosiveness on court and what he can provide to the rockets.

However, especially since this year we are without Yao and have a small front court does anyone else see that if Scola was traded to let Landry start there would be an issue with rebounds.

I noticed that Landry will give you some of the most spectacular plays when his in the game with explosive dunks and blocks. But one area of his game thats always nagged me a little has been his rebounding. Someone with his explosiveness should be getting more rebounds.

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed this too?

Here comes Conroy – 3rd PG.

I checked on this, and Conroy’s currently signed with a Chinese team. So…

So the Rockets hooked that up huh ;-)

Ah well

it was the WAG – not much research.

The Rockets' official twitter feed has more:
From @dmorey: "Pops did a great job while he was here with us at the Rockets…" (to be continued)

Continued: “This move is only being done to give us some roster flexibility in case of an injury or a potential call up from the RGVVipers.”

“With the way Coach currently has the rotation set up, this will also allow Pops an opportunity to explore options for more playing time."

yeah this makes sense....

The team has shown a severe need for another PG. And Pops wasn’t getting any run anyway…

I think it was a case of

low BBIQ. Or had Pops improved in that area during his tenure with the Rockets?

The Charles Barkley 2009/10 Ancestors Count: 1 Grandmothers , 0 Mother Alltime: Reg. 24-0 Playoffs 7-0

"There were arms coming from everywhere, and I knew they weren’t going for the ball," Miller said. "I was just trying to get [the shot] up before they called some crap like ‘on the ground.’ "
"What do you want me to do?" Wright asked. "Do you want me to Derek Fisher him?"
"Give them some fucking credit, i mean for real." Jackson said.
"I just fell on my face for no reason," Bryant deadpanned. "I'm a klutz."
"Fucking right i'm preachin' it!" Carlisle replied.
"Rough life, isn't it. It's tough all over, isn't it." Smith chuckled.
Mutombo, Ewing and Yao at the restaurant...
MUTOMBO: "The chicken is the bomb."
EWING: [Rubbing belly] "I gotta go work out tonight. I'm full. You got a treadmill for me?"
YAO: " Leave your car keys here and run home. I'll give you the keys tomorrow."

I think it was mostly a case of there being no room for him

and there being more pressing concerns for the roster.

Yeah, the wildcard here was...

Chase Budinger, who knew he would contribute more than Pops…

by suzaku on Nov 13, 2009 6:59 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

well

Bud’s success certainly factors into it. But the Rockets went into the season with a lot of power forwards. That was, I suspect, because Morey wasn’t sure that the basic Scola/Landry/Hayes core would work, but at this point they all look very good. I doubt the Rockets expected Hayes to suddenly learn how to finish around the basket, but his growth this year means they can not worry so much about the frontcourt.

Now the Rockets go back to looking at their guard situation, which was basically what they tried to address in the draft. I wouldn’t be surprised if Temple gets called up soon.

Sorry OAL

This snuck in on me. I’ll delete the other one.

Dreaming

Waiving Pops was most likely a precautionary move since the Rockets only have 2 PG’s on roster and not knowing when t-mac is back they most likely want a roster spot for a spare PG.

But when I saw Mt Mutombo next to Leslie at the last game did anyone else wish the Eternal Warrior would come play for the Rockets one last time if by the trade deadline we look like making the playoff’s so we have a big body.

Deke is the best

but isnt he still rehabbing? Also I dont think its in the Rockets best interest to get another injury prone big man, we need to move on from him…

by Rockets4LIFE on Nov 14, 2009 9:40 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

I think so…

… besides, I thought Mutombo was definite about being retired.

Yeah, I’d love for him to be healthy & in shape and come back to play for us. But I’d say that’s a longshot.

Too bad about Pops. I’d rather that they cut Cook instead but of course, money is the reason why this has happened. Based on what both guys can do for the team, Pops is more valuable than Cook is (IMO) but there are 3 and 1/2 million reasons why Cook is still a Rocket and Pops is not…

As far as the 3rd PG goes…

… I’m sure there is probably a PG in the D-League right now they are looking at who they think is good enough to fill in as the 3rd PG…

Assigning Dorsey to the D-League may mean…

… they are also looking at bring in somebody big… probably a tall center who can play defense and maybe provide some offense inside the paint.

I wish it was Mutombo but…
