Around SBN: Can Tebow Say No To Anything?

Since Bright Side of the Sun got their preview up first...

I was checking out what BTOTS had to say about the Rockets/Suns game tonight, and in their preview they had this to say in their rundown of Scola:

The Rockets have very little depth at any position so taking Louis (sic) out of the game would spell instant trouble.

Is it just me, or is that the opposite of the Rockets' situation?  I would actually venture to say that the Rockets' backups are pretty close in ability to the starters at every position.  The "problem" that pretty much everyone has seen with Houston is that they have no star who stands out.

Even if you don't buy that Budinger and Andersen are close in value to Ariza/Battier and Hayes, I would say that the position where we have the least drop-off in ability is probably the Scola-Landry substitution.

Now, I don't want to see Scola in foul trouble early, but isn't the main (if not only) advantage of having a roster stuffed with interchangeable role players that something like foul trouble/injury affects us less?

I guess I'm just ticked because I'm tired of hearing the Rockets getting dismissed because they have no stars, and right when it looks like that might die down a bit I hear that we have no depth.  Pretty soon we won't be able to win because our jerseys use only primary colours.

No cursing in title. No pirated material, such as links to online game streams. Do not cut/paste entire sections of content from other websites. Thanks.

Bloggers for other teams have been saying this all season

It drives me nuts. If anything, our depth is our biggest strength. It’s certainly not our greatest weakness.

Two other quotes:

From the Blazer’s Edge preview:
“They’re not deep, so pound, run, scratch, and move them around. They’ll get rebounds but make sure they’re hard-fought. Push the ball up and make them run with you even if you don’t have a fast break. Substitute enough to keep you fresh while they tire. Watch the fun commence as the second half progresses.”

From the WelcomeToLoudCity (Thunder) preview:
“For how good the Rockets are, they don’t have much of a bench.”

I think people just assume that with McGrady and Yao out, and Wafer gone, our bench is essentially our starting rotation. They don’t understand how great Morey has been at finding diamonds in the rough.

On a general level, yes, the Rockets have a lot of depth. It’s a deeper team than last year, and last year’s team was very deep. Fans of other teams don’t really understand this, so their “The Rockets don’t have a bench” statements really only reveal the fact that they don’t know who Kyle Lowry or Carl Landry is.

Good, that's what we want isn't it?

We don’t want high expectations from our team. Let them twiddle their thumbs while we slowly and gradually walk away with wins, all the while our opponents are left dazed and confused.

…and wondering where their lunch money went.

And Cook used to start for the Lakers.

Doesn’t that make him better than Ariza?
