GameThread: Suns @ Rockets; 7:30 CST
Phoenix Suns at Houston Rockets, Nov 17, 2009 7:30 PM CST
Apparently, there's some sort of sporting event being played tonight in Toyota Center! Let's converse about it, shall we?

Super lame
League Pass has the Phoenix feed. I don’t want to listen their homers. I want to listen to ours.
What's funny is...
that I was actually hoping to listen to the Rockets’ feed to learn some more about y’all. Good luck tonight. I hope the Rockets play well enough to lose in a dignified “moral victory” kind of fashion. Feel free to pop in and say hi over at BSOTS.

Just kidding apparently.
I got both feeds in Los Angeles. Rockets homers it is.

yeah, it doesn't really matter
if I remember right, there’s like a 1% difference in winning percentage, but that’s probably just because the team that wins the tipoff probably has the more athletic center.
Bugger that I wanna see Brooks jump it
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
okay, I'm ammending my list
it’s now Lakers, Knicks, and Suns broadcasters who I don’t utterly loathe. I like these guys.
Bill and Clyde/Whoever used to drive me nuts
The past two years, though, they’ve been pretty good from my perspective. Of course, I completely understand why opposing fans hate them.
Eddie Johnson:
“I don’t know what to say. The Rockets are supposed to be a smallish team, but they keep getting inside”
In the words of Bushwick Bill, “Size ain’t shit.”
Obvious "that's what she said" line here

This is weird.
I’ve had tons of LP problems, but today it’s been running perfectly.
Today, however, I’m on my girlfriend’s Mac.
Yep
No 3 pointers made in the 2nd quarter from us

Just an awful 2nd quarter - D just evaporated
Go on, try to beat them. Try to score on them. Stay in front of those guards. Try to tap out an offensive rebound on that Lilliputian front line. They're so awful, you're so good ... go on. Beat ‘em. - Kelly Dwyer on The Rockets

ok thanks thats pretty close
hope we regroup and play good D
steve nash
0 points??
hes got 8 assists though
Nah, I gotcha.
I joined Dream Shake without knowing about your, uh, restrictions and got in a bit of trouble my first week.
Channing’s been a nonfactor so far… is that because of D, cold shooting, or both…?

I breathe a sigh of relief every time a Rockets opponent misses, period. ;)

"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
back to the bench for you!!
if we keep stat like that too we should pull away
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
Man get the ball to Landry
and let him draw a foul on Stat!!
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
That foul call on Landry was the ref bailing himself out
there was absolutely no foul there, but the ref had blown his whistle.
Some D PLEASE!!!!!!
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
it wasn't really a bad pass
Ariza knocked it away and right into another Sun who fell out of bounds.
I like this line up now!!!
scola and landry
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
its a close game..but were leading by 2
its a tough test on us.. hopefully we can pull this one off.
man we have to get Stat out of there
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
although he is missing from the line.....
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
Yup. Better Stoudemire gets only 0-1 point per possession than two.

5 players in double figures again,
chase on 8pts though
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
Whats with all the fouls
I thought we were at home??
Not watching only got the game cast…..
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
That, or he put his 401(k) on the Suns. :p

D-fence
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
Whats with AB
He shoots well every second night……anyone else notice this pattern?
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
frye...
would have thought he’d stop attempting 3s by now and then he makes a crucial one.
Landry owns Frye
See ya Frye
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaakkkk
sooooo many fouls!!! seriously wtf
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
We go to Chuck wagon with the game on the line??
seriously WTF
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
well
fuck this.
Crawford still looks like a limp dick, and he continues to be the league’s worst. He can kindly go fuck himself.
Crazy...
biggest key of the game ended up being… the Suns’ defense?
Our bench was garbage as well. Bad +/- for all of them.
by goingforthecorner on Nov 17, 2009 9:50 PM CST reply actions
I keep having to switch between the radio and lp
but it seems to me that the Rockets just didn’t make shots, not that the suns actually played good defense.
We live and die by the three unfortunately
died tonight. 9-25 from three.
by goingforthecorner on Nov 17, 2009 9:53 PM CST up reply actions
and they blew wide open threes
shit happens. And it never helps when Crawford is on the court. The foul calls essentially become random.
I believe the free throws are the real reason. Phoenix was only 6-21 from behind the arc.
by DribbleHooper on Nov 17, 2009 9:54 PM CST up reply actions
Phoenix getting 15 more free throw attempts might’ve had a bit more to do with it.
by DribbleHooper on Nov 17, 2009 9:55 PM CST up reply actions
Maybe that disparity would be smaller
if we didn’t take so many threes. Just a thought.
by goingforthecorner on Nov 17, 2009 9:56 PM CST up reply actions
That being said, your point has merit. More dunks/layups/drives for fouls might’ve been in order.
by DribbleHooper on Nov 17, 2009 9:57 PM CST up reply actions
not really
the rockets work it inside, too
they tend to stay away from shitty midrange shots. and 25 to 21 isn’t any kind of real disparity, here.
right at the end
whyyy
sigh…
tmac we miss you…
what the score?
its seems i received a late feed
Sigh ... we're about to lose another close game
Would you agree that since our team thrives a lot on effort and preparation, we’re gonna lose to a lot of good teams we’re meeting for the first time. And that we do better the 2nd time around? That’s what happened with Portland and LA.
You know, you might have something there.
by DribbleHooper on Nov 17, 2009 9:59 PM CST up reply actions
decent thought.....
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
no
It’s mere coincidence that the games against the two teams they’ve played twice have been split evenly.
We know the book on the Suns, and they know the book on us.
We'll see. We get to play Sacramento again
I think, early next week
by RoxBeliever on Nov 17, 2009 10:04 PM CST up reply actions
how bout T-Wolves game?
hope the losing streak will end ..and the 1win -1lose trend each & every game
Correction, we play Sacramento Sat Nov 21
and Dallas will be our game after that. We play Minnesota tomorrow and Atlanta on Fri.
Gosh, who should we crucify at the NBA office for giving us such a schedule? (Meanwhile LA plays 17 of their first 21 games at home.)
I consider Minnesota and Sacramento as teams inferior to us, and Atlanta and Dallas as good teams.
by RoxBeliever on Nov 17, 2009 10:18 PM CST up reply actions
I believe....
we are on the right track and besides were above .500, I think the low of averages caught us against the Suns and of course the questionable & intriguing calls from “Berdugo” Ref named CRAWFORD.
nope this sat. (Sunday RP)
before that i hope we will win against Atlanta on Friday so we have back to back wins
provided we got W on T-Wolves tom. ( which i really expected an easy cruise against them)
I hope
we VS the suns in the 1st round of the playoffs, if it’s not a LA matchup
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
if it ends up being an la matchup
it would be amazing.
but really and truely id have to say id rather meat them in the final round;)
BAD CALLS
JOEY CRAWFORD WINS AGAIN AGAINST THE HOUSTON ROCKETS!!!
he is the no.7 guy . Big + for the Suns
We are playing against 7 players, and the one player has a whistle in his F***KNG mouth.
He indeed the court general on the floor who’s making controversial calls. CROOKFORD literally “Controls” the game.
well make it 7
CROOKFORD= 2 players.. one on the offensive and one on the defensive end..
its so hard to win when this guy is around..
Don't some teams complain to the NBA office
by sending tapes of bad calls from referees?
I believe they all do… not that I can tell it does much good.
by DribbleHooper on Nov 17, 2009 10:48 PM CST up reply actions
I’m sicker over this loss than I probably should be. Sure, we “only” lost by six points… but this game was entirely winnable, even with taking 20 more shots than the Suns and only making two of those twenty.
I realize shooters go through slumps, and have off nights… but that doesn’t make me feel any better.
