Battier vs Gay? Check this out

Heres a story from John Schuhmann about Battier's defensive efficiency compared to all the other players. It also names houston as number 1 on a rankings based system at defending against top players such as Lebron, Wade, Melo and Kobe.

Star-divide

If you look to the bottom of it you can also see that Gay is rated as one of the worst one on one defenders according to these stats, which may indicate how much better the Battier trade was for the team.

I saw that

We all know how good Battier has been, so the most interesting part for me was how awful Rudy Gay is.
Hopefully this will put to rest any talk that we should pursue Gay this offseason.

True but Gay would be a nice scorer off the bench for us. While he does lack defensively, an extra boost off the bench would still be nice seeing as we don’t know if the current roster can keep up their impressive scoring for an entire season.

Miss-placed Houstonian living and going to school in the wilderness of Wyoming.

I don't think "Scorer off the bench" is part of Gay's worldview.

Go on, try to beat them. Try to score on them. Stay in front of those guards. Try to tap out an offensive rebound on that Lilliputian front line. They're so awful, you're so good ... go on. Beat ‘em. - Kelly Dwyer on The Rockets

Rudy Gay is completely worthless on this team

He reeks of “great bad team player”
