End of the Road for Rockets and TMac?
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/justice/rockets/6732407.html
Guys, have you read Richard Justice's Chronicle article dated Nov 20 saying that T-Mac has infuriated Morey, Adelman and even Les Alexander?
I think we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel regarding the T-Mac saga in Houston. C'mon, trade him or freeze him and let's MOVE ON finally!

T-Mac feels threatened
Since our team doing great so far without him…Maybe he feels his services is no longer needed by us..Or he is afraid that he might be traded.. thats why he is so eager to play..
Now what is our option? if and only if T-mac parted ways with the Rockets, who will replaced him?… I know our team needed somebody to take over especially during game closer siuation.. That i think the Houston top honchos have already a blueprint on this kind of scenarios..
This all transpires next week… hope it ends well..
Seems like it’s all very simple to understand to me…
T-Mac wants to get back onto the court playing ASAP because he knows he needs to show something soon in order to cash in for a big free agent contract this next offseason.
The Rockets (on the other hand) could have several motives for the way they are handling this.
One thing may be the fact that they feel T-Mac truly isn’t healed enough to play and they don’t want a repeat of what happened with him last season. Or it could be that since his paycheck is basically being covered by insurance, the team is “saving” the cost of his salary.
(Why pay 23 million if he isn’t gonna play a lot of games & a lot of minutes at a high level?)
Or it could be Houston feels he may mess up the ‘’team basketball’’ style of play the squad is playing right now. Maybe they feel T-Mac can’t (or won’t want to) play the unselfish running style the team currently is employing.
I feel what they need to do is hold him back as long as they can before the trade deadline. Bring him back with just enough time to get him some game action. Hopefully, he shows he’s recovered & then some team may offer Houston something good for him in order to get their hands on his big expiring contract, along with his play on the court for the rest of this season… maybe longer if they like him enough to try & resign him.
I had to stop arguing with drunks, Steeler fans, and all other fools.

Why rush him back
when he probably won’t play well, probably won’t fit with the rest of the team, may get hurt, AND it costs us money?
If I were TMac and believe so much that I'm ready to play
I would tell Houston I’m willing to play without salary until you’re convinced I can play at a top level.
This way, we’re sure he’s not just playing for 10 minutes and demanding the high salary he’s receiving.
But of course Tmac will never think this way. He just does not get it. He’s a throwback to the old days where stars could demand anything. But now with the bad economy and the way the Rockets team today is constituted, he doesn’t fit the ethos of the team anymore.
Trouble is, the moment T-Mac sets foot on the court doing a game…
… he has to be paid by the team, not insurance. The players union would never allow T-Mac to play without any pay… even if by some miracle he was even willing to do so.
This team looks to me to be going in another direction and I question McGrady’s ability to fit into the new way the team is playing.
I do not believe he would be willing to “play along” with this new offense. I believe it is in the team’s best interest to try and get the best deal they can for him. Either that or let him leave at season’s end and have that money his expiring contract opens up available to sign someone else who fits the way the team plays now better…

It is the injury and insurance
They dont want to bring him back now because (a) the team is doing ok without him, (b) he still is not 100% healed and © the insurance is paying 80% of his salary. Only a moron would think that a healthy Tmac would hurt team chemistry. Tmac (healthy) can out shoot, out pass and outplay anybody else on the Rockets. Management knows the team is only average and wont get better this year. They gave up on this season. They want to cut costs and the current team, without Tmac, is filling seats.
