Rockets more dangerous without stardom?
I got to thinking that maybe the Rockets are more dangerous without any star players. Playing consistently as the underdog gives us the advantage. Also it gives us an advantage on offense, by the defense not knowing who will score or who will have the ball. I'm not saying I don't want Yao or T-mac back but the beginning of the season might not just be a few lucky wins. Rockets are a very deep team that can get 15+ points from any player(excluding Chuck) with no surprise. So if someone is having a cold night, we have other players to replace him and easily contribute.
The game tomorrow vs the Lakers will be very interesting. We see who got the better free agent for a night. How Ariza will do against his former team. If Artest will go crazy like he said. If our new fast paced system can run with theirs. A lot of questions will be answered tomorrow. Although I'm not confident that we'll win, we do have some things going our way. We have a day of rest, they're playing a game right now. It's at home. And they have a weak bench. If we win tomorrow, I'm going to have to buy a new computer screen from cum stains.
No cursing in title. No pirated material, such as links to online game streams. Thanks.

The Lakers just struggled last night to beat the Thunder in OT…
… so I like the Rockets chances of winning this game tonight.
Right now the team can get away without having any superstar players. But if they want to make any serious title runs, history has shown teams with 2 or 3 superstar players have the best chances of winning. Having only one & winning the title is rare and having no superstars at all and winning the title is almost unheard of.
Hopefully, Yao can come back and be effective without being injury prone as he has been in the past. If so, then all Houston needs to do is come up with the right great player to team up with Yao.
The Rockets should have enough money to pay a big time free agent. The trick will be convincing one to come to Houston…
I had to stop arguing with drunks, Steeler fans, and all other fools.
It was making my brick wall jealous...

...but who is a "Superstar"
I think the media’s definition of “superstar” and the type of player who helps his team to the degree a superstar should are substantially divergent. To me, the average media analyst basically picks a few categories (mainly points, assists and rebounds) and then glorifies any player who is in the top x% of that category. Guys like Battier and Hayes are extremely valuable, but are never recognized under this primitive formula. Ultimately, mainstream basketball analysts and Daryl Morey differ on how to evaluate players. There are plenty of busts that the analysts have hyped, not so for Morey. In conclusion, the Rockets don’t have anyone who meets Charles Barkley’s definition of superstar. But I’m not too worried about that. We have plenty of players who meet Daryl Morey’s definition of superstar (or at least star), and I’ll take Morey’s player of Chuck’s player any day.

This, plus, with so many young guys on the Rockets this season who knows whether one or more of them are superstars ready to emerge.

We're more dangerous with Yao, T-Mac
if hypothetically they were playing, Adelman would be smart to heavily reduce their minutes. How would you gameplan against this team? They can play multiple styles.
