Week #2 NBA Power Rankings...
I was interested to see how much love the Rockets were gonna get for their good start and...
... here's what I found out:
http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/powerRankings
Fox ranks Houston at #10!
While ESPN ranks them at #17:
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/powerranking
Of course, ESPN's rankings came out when the Rockets had only 2 wins. Fox's came out after their 3rd win.
Being 4-2 and only 1 game back in the West should elevate their ranking on both Fox & ESPN...

I think the Rockets have played very, very, well. But I also think that their competition in the ~10 range has played very poorly. I expect both to level out a little bit. So I put the Rockets at about 13. Behind Boston/LAL/Orlando/Phoenix/Denver/Portland/Washington/ATL/San Antonio/Cleveland/Dallas/Miami
I also expect F-U-tah to move Boozer and resolve their chemistry/defense issues, but until that happens and they make a run, screw them.
look at fox's rankings...
they rank based on record first…
we probably arnt better than portland.. and we rank ahead of the bulls as well…
utah also could be better than us.. once they sort through the x100000 problems they have
i know we beat them but that doesnt mean we are consistently better than them…or will continue to be
it's not based on record
lakers were 2-1 and #3, cavs were 2-2 and #6, suns and heat were 3-0 and #s 8 and 9
you’re all wrong – rankings are based upon how teams have played so far in the season, not your subjective determinations of how good they are
I'm willing to bet
that based on the fact that these are done by humans, that there is a little bias in them as well. Otherwise a 2-2 Cavs team wouldn’t have been ranked about the undefeated heat and suns
