McGrady set to return on November 18th
From SB Nation's Andrew Sharp:
According to reports, Tracy McGrady will be back in action for the Houston Rockets in little more than a week. November 18th, vs. the Timberwolves, to be exact. He shared his thoughts in an e-mail to Yahoo! Sports:
"Excited to get back and compete at a high level again. For a full year I had to play on one leg against the best and I couldn't compete with anybody the way I was feeling."
"It's gonna be a relief to get out there and play knowing what I went [through] last season and this summer."
We'd last heard that Tracy was out until the end of November. We'll see if the team clears him to play - it's my understanding that they haven't yet.
If you'd told me a month ago that Tracy would be back this early, I'd be ecstatic. But given how well this current team has played, I'm a little hesitant to throw a wrench in it. Then again, this wrench sounds much more polished than it has been in past years. Ah, forget it; Tracy's return can only be a good thing.
UPDATE: Rockets, McGrady aren't on same page (thanks to forshizzle for the link)

Looks like TMac hasn't run this by the Rockets yet
Feigen is reporting that this is news to Morey and no timetable has been set for TMac’s return

There he goes again...
Leaking stuff out to the media before getting the ok from the front office
Glad he feels ready, but we really don’t need him unless he’s 100%
However, we could really use him at the end of the month for that last home game vs the spurs, right before the 4 game road trip

McGrady isnt quoted saying he's coming back on Nov. 18th
Maybe its just me trying to hope that T-Mac wont kill the chemistry, but I kind of sense that this reporter got an email from Tracy saying that hes feeling good and the reporter set his own arbitrary date to get some attention. I feel like if McGrady actually did say Nov. 18th, it would have been quoted in the story, but it wasnt. Kinda fishy to me.

remember when he tried to come back early last year
he ended up just getting injured again. Maybe he should wait a while before coming back to make 100% sure that hes healthy

I would rather see him come off the bench at first.

More (well, not really) from McGrady:
As for me, I have been practicing, training, and rehabbing hard for my return to the court. I’m in a good place mentally and my body feels ready to get back out there, so now I am just waiting on my doctors to give me the clearance to go ahead to play. I’m going full speed at practice and am not being held out of drills anymore. I’m hoping to get out there as soon as possible, and with everything that my doctors have been telling me, it sounds like that will be sooner rather than later. All your comments and support and encouragement have really helped me fight through this to get to this point where I’m ready to get back out there and play ball, and for that I thank you.

donr rush it T-Mac
Our Team is in good shape so far.. with a 4-2 record, and if and only if it continues that way(Hope it will ) then it would be better if he just maximize his recovery time, so when he comes back hes 101% injury free..

If the team doesn’t want him playing yet…
… then it is up to them to tell him “no”.
Let’s hope that this means that Brian Cook’s days as a permanent fixture on the end of the bench are coming to an end soon. I know it is painful but just cut him a check and put him on a boat bound for Europe or South America or someplace else overseas where he can continue his basketball “career”.
Then they can sign someone who may have a future in the NBA to fill Cook’s roster spot…
I had to stop arguing with drunks, Steeler fans, and all other fools.
It was making my brick wall jealous...
