That must have been a very eye-pleasing game to watch
Uniform wise for both teams, I dont remember how that actual game went for the Rockets.
"Every time you turn on ESPN you see Bama" - Earl Thomas' answer when asked what excites him most about the National Championship.
To all Houston sports fans, Houston is the 4th biggest city in America, there will be traffic on the way to your respective sports game. Come Early, Be Loud, Stay Late.
The ticker on the bottom of ESPN
reads that Rick Adelman says T-Mac will play “abot” 7 minutes.
I guess he will play like a robot today. Good news there.
How many Biletnikoffs does he have? NOT TWO!
As long as the bot in question is the Terminator, I won’t complain.

Yes
I would have answered earlier, but I was speechless. Please excuse me.
How many Biletnikoffs does he have? NOT TWO!
I do not blame you for your speechlessness.
I wonder what the stats are for the Rockets in games where Chuck makes consecutive free throws? Seems to me the last time he did that, we won handily…

Why is Scola not considered an all star
by Texan Youngster on Dec 15, 2009 7:50 PM CST reply actions
Because folks outside Houston have written off the Rockets as “overachievers”.
Stinks, but that’s the way it is viewed by the uninformed.

Brooks is gonna have a monster night if he keep playing that way
by Texan Youngster on Dec 15, 2009 7:58 PM CST reply actions
I don't remember the stats...
…but we usually win when he gets 20+ points… so this is also a good development…
by DribbleHooper on Dec 15, 2009 7:58 PM CST up reply actions
Rockets are 6-2 when Brooks gets 20+ this season

I knew somebody would find those stats.
Glad to see I wasn’t hallucinating. Thanks for finding those.

Thats can only be a good thing
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
TMAC!! 3
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
First game back in ten months...
…I’m inclined to give him a pass. Still, he shouldn’t miss both of them… sigh

I thought he would have been practicing FT when he couldn't practice
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
but there is no Thunderstix at home....lol
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
Great half, just gotta rebound a bit more

of course I do... my bad (slaps forehead)
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
Yup. A 13-10 edge is nice, but a bigger margin is always nicer.
by DribbleHooper on Dec 15, 2009 8:07 PM CST up reply actions
I think he means on the defensive end.
Pistons have 5 offensive rebounds
How many Biletnikoffs does he have? NOT TWO!
I waited until the 2nd Q started to say that
he’s done.
How many Biletnikoffs does he have? NOT TWO!
Well, fooey.
Maybe Adelman will sneak him back in at some point…

It's kinda like he's getting ready to say, "Oh, puh-LEEZE" with a lisp.
by DribbleHooper on Dec 15, 2009 8:25 PM CST up reply actions
that's what I'm thinking too
like “Come one Scola, we both know who the best foreign player on the Rockets is”
How many Biletnikoffs does he have? NOT TWO!
He'th tho thilly.
In foreign achievements, I believe it’s Andersen… but so far, Scola wins in terms of NBA performance…
by DribbleHooper on Dec 15, 2009 8:34 PM CST up reply actions
Agreed.
Scola has the additional edge of a few NBA seasons, while Andersen is still an NBA rookie. I look forward to seeing how Andersen plays toward the end of the season, and later.

he looks like that guy off of Road Trip

there are funnier pictures
I just like something about his.

landry starting to learn to whine to the officials like a star
good lesson, I suppose, and absolutely critical if he wants to make that leap.
by Only_A_Lad on Dec 15, 2009 8:36 PM CST reply actions 1 recs
Very true. This is Landry's third year, right...?
by DribbleHooper on Dec 15, 2009 8:40 PM CST up reply actions
He IS a star
in my eyes a superstar this year
by RocketsAstros on Dec 15, 2009 8:38 PM CST up reply actions
He should win Sixth Man of the Year, easily.
All Star Reserve too, if there’s any justice.
(I’m counting on coaches more than fans to recognize his abilities.)

Poor ending of the quarter
Somehow the Pistons caught up 10 points in 2.5 minutes. Rox up 9.
Yup.
Would’ve rather seen the Rockets keep the 15 point lead they had about halfway through the second quarter, but it’s better than blowing the whole lead and going into the half down.
Still, it is a concern that the Pistons put up 28 points in the second quarter.
by DribbleHooper on Dec 15, 2009 8:53 PM CST up reply actions
after having 18
with less than 3 minutes to go minutes to go…

Man! the other Raptors showed up to todays game, wish it was the other
way round when we played them the other day
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
Rockets dominating this game in every area
except turnovers and rebounds. Rockets have turned it over 8 times to Detroit’s 3.
Also, Pistons have 9 offensive boards.
How many Biletnikoffs does he have? NOT TWO!
Oh and the lakers are struggling now that they are play Kobe ball
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
I didn't know the other Jonas brother started for the Pistons?
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
So this is what happens
when the Rockets play another “scrappy” team
How many Biletnikoffs does he have? NOT TWO!
Chucky atkins still plays?
Really……..? really??
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
hey,
the Knicks just signed Jonathan Bender to a contract. Most teams prefer to sign shitty veterans than take a chance on a shitty young guy. Go figure. It’s why the Astros give contracts out to the Darin Erstads and Jason Michaels of the world
Please stop...
You’re giving me Rod Strickland and Vin Baker flashbacks… ;p

rockets have a HUGE fta advantage.
They’re getting inside, but they’ve definitely benefited from some gift calls. That last foul on lowry is probably an example of that.
Yay we finally close out a 3rd quarter properly
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
Bill says what we're all thinking. They call Landry for pushing Kwame when going for the rebound...
“So what? He’s wasn’t going to get it, anyways.”
Pushing Kwame Brown should be legal. Encouraged, even.
Taking his lunch money is optional.
But also encouraged.

Ladies and Gentalmen,
your solution to the Ariza having a poor night. (in the future).. Mr Bud light
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
it's easy to say that when facing a very injured detroit.
Things may have been very different with ben gordon in the lineup. Ariza’s defense is much, much better than Bud’s.
Totally agree, But I was talking shooting wise
Ariza doesn’t have poor Defensive nights…. just the odd laps
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
thank goodness Detroit keeps missing
because AB is trying to shoot us out of this game.
How many Biletnikoffs does he have? NOT TWO!
And he's still shooting better than 50%... for now.
by DribbleHooper on Dec 15, 2009 9:56 PM CST up reply actions
I'll take 50% any day
I just mean he missed about four shots in a row when Detroit was chipping away.
How many Biletnikoffs does he have? NOT TWO!
Now we only need scola to get some boards and we have 3 double doubles
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
Scola needs 2 more rebounds
for double-double and Brooks needs 1 assist. Let’s do it.
14-10
Not a bad start for a team selected by some to win no more than 37 games this season.
by DribbleHooper on Dec 15, 2009 10:05 PM CST up reply actions
as I recall,
my prediction was 45-48 wins, and we’re pretty much on pace for that. We’ll see how this next road trip goes, though.
But don't forget,
the schedule goes from appalling, like it is now, to easy, in the 2nd half. Coming out of December with a winning record would be great.
