Memo to our esteemed commenters: Stop trying to (hypothetically) trade away Luis Scola

A very disturbing trend has now reached a breaking point.

Over the summer, I saw a few comments/posts with hypothetical trades.  Most were for humor purposes.  Yet every now and then these trades included Luis Scola going to some other team.  Back then, I ignored it and just laughed it off.  Because why would we ever want to do something like that?

But now....... now it seems like every trade concocted by the ESPN Trade Machine gurus here involves pairing T-Mac's carcass with Luis Scola in exchange for some over-hyped has-been (e.g., Jermaine O'Neal, Elton Brand, Luol Deng, etc. etc.).  And I am just about to snap.  Almost as if you guys cheated in an academic decathlon or something.

So, just to be clear:

STOP TRYING TO TRADE AWAY LUIS SCOLA!!!!!!

Thank you.  That is all.

Sincerely,

the Management.

I don't know

Isiah and Billy Knight don’t have GM gigs anymore.

Memphis is still around

and don’t forget the effects of desperation. Philly, Chicago, Indiana, etc. are all going to be freaking out in about two months. Even more so than now. Desperation and panic breed stupid decisions.

Yes, and the Lakers look to have resigned Pau

Now placing them approximately eleventy-billion dollars over the cap.

Lakers can afford the $$ for one; and #24 will walk if they don't get a big man to help.

and as other said, Gizz got Pau’s bro for so cheap & so effective.

it’s a good deal for both end. but i agreed on an old news said, the GM for Grizz deserved the 6th man award (for Lakers) last year….

in hindsight....

The Grizz didn’t do so bad with the Pau trade.

For one, they had to trade Pau. And two, they ended up getting one hell of a good young player in return (Pau’s brother).

Agreed.

The way I see it – LA was going to have one heck of a front court either way around it.

However, I’m not sure they would have won that ring without Pau – he a great passer and perfect for PJ’s triangle offense.

No

there’s no way they could have. Gasol, now that he has other good players around him and a reason to play defense, is a top-3 power forward in this league.

The only trades for Scola I would accept — assuming it were up to me — would be ridiculously lopsided in the Rockets’ favor.

You know… like Scola for KB24 or LBJ, straight up.

Otherwise… no trade, no how, no sir.

agreed totally!!!

impossible, but it’s for good laugh and the love of rocket fans. :)

The only way you trade this guy is if…

… you are sure he won’t resign down the road and you are gonna lose him and get nothing back in return. Or him (along with others) being traded gets you a superstar back in return.

Personally, I think Houston will resign him & I think he wants to stay so there’s no need to trade him. Unless the impossible happens & the Cavs want to trade LeBron to us for Scola & a bunch of other guys & draft picks.

I had to stop arguing with drunks, Steeler fans, and all other fools.
It was making my brick wall jealous...
