Half empty? Half full? Portland's glass is shattered.

Stay connected for news and updates

We Rockets fans know from heartbreaking injury.  We know what it's like to lose multiple stars for the season, or at the worst possible time.  Portland is getting a special double dose of that now.  My heart goes out to a worthy opponent in the Trailblazers and the great fans at Blazer's Edge.

Tonight Joel Przybilla ruptured his patella tendon.  Brandon Roy hurt his shoulder and is going for an MRI.  We think we don't have a center?  We have two.  Portland literally has none - Juwon Howard, for all his veteran grit, is not a center.  I think they will pull the rookie Pendergraph off the injured list a bit early.

As I said there, next year make sure your season script is written by Frank Capra, not Franz Kafka.

Anyhow, Rockets fans, as bad as a slowly recovering McGrady and absent Yao is, its not as bad as this overfilled sick bay:

Greg Oden (Out for the season, knee injury.)

Nic Batum (Return unknown.)

Travis Outlaw (Return unknown.)

Joel Przybilla (Out for the season, major knee injury.)

Jeff Pendergraph (Went out in summer, may be coming back now.)

Rudy Fernandez (Out 2-4 more weeks.)
