And HERE we go.

If this was Blazer’s Edge the poll would spell disaster on a game thread. One day. One day.

Warriors are our best chance at winning the tip too

So if we can get ellis in Foul trouble when does the

mercey rule come into play

16 minutes into the game

Well,

their two good men are out (Bieldrins and Turiaf), and Mikki isn’t good. At all.

Fully expecting Scola or Laundry to get a career high.

by Tam Henry xD on Dec 3, 2009 10:30 PM CST up reply actions

Agreed.

Bieldrins is a really good player. But I doubt the warriors will let go of him.

by Tam Henry xD on Dec 3, 2009 10:43 PM CST up reply actions

Oh they won't.

I just see guys I think would be a great fit, and get covetous.

Despite our hatred of Utah, for example, I’ve alway thought AK47 was a perfect complementary player to Yao. But he’s become such a Utah dipshit, its way too late, and hes way overpaid.

by Xiane on Dec 3, 2009 10:54 PM CST up reply actions

AK47's okay.

The only player I like from Utah is Deron. You know it’s funny, I never liked the Jazz, and I come across this blog and see all this hate on them.

5 MORE LAUNDRY, AND I GET MY PREDICTION.

so what does everybody think......

stick with the threads we have now or go back to the red & yellow? i for one wouldnt mind going back to the way things used to be, got a couple of rings in them. or do you just let the classics stay that way?

you know, it's weird to think of this,

but only one player on the roster played for Rudy T, and I’m pretty sure Yao’s not traveling with the team right now. Clyde usually doesn’t travel to away games, so the only people from the Rudy era with the Rockets are Bill Worrell and Keith Jones.

by Only_A_Lad on Dec 3, 2009 10:51 PM CST up reply actions

Anyone else listening to the Warriors feed?

“Pass & Crash” is a bad rule? Ok, Battier set himself up for those charges, but what idiotic commentary.

So technically it’s illegal to smash into a guy, but the NBA should really look at changing the rule when it’s on a pass.

I fully agree. Other necessary rule changes: elbowing should be legal in certain situations (passes), travelling (when leading up to a pass), and nudity (when the uniform falls off during a pass).

by Moondebah on Dec 3, 2009 10:43 PM CST reply actions

Heh.

The problem with changing the rule is that players will develop plays that send the passer down the lane like a fullback in the NFL, with the express purpose of taking out a defender. So while the rule has its downside, you really don’t want to see that.

Also, Radmanovic was just killing us. Best move? Sit his ass on down! Thanks Don!

by Xiane on Dec 4, 2009 12:10 AM CST up reply actions

my first post, inspired...

Firstly, as soon as I heard them play the final countdown, with the Rockets down 10 or so, I knew we were winning.

Secondly, all we had to do was go to our game. Trevor just played as a solid role player, and let our two best offensive player (Brooks and Landry) go to work based on whatever the defense gave them. The even ran the pick and roll, which they should do even more of.

Also, Battier was riddic tonight. Except for the fact that he didn’t get many open threes, he played a brilliant game. Great D, clutch rebounding in the fourth….

by luislandry on Dec 4, 2009 12:08 AM CST reply actions

Im glad we got the win, but surprisingly, we got sucked into Warriors Bizarro World.

No D, jacktastic, lots of lazy D – meaning reaches as the driver goes by – no ball security – etc – etc.

The we shook off the effect of those magic mushrooms, remembered we’re the Rockets, and started playing D.

by Xiane on Dec 4, 2009 12:12 AM CST up reply actions

true

Though he did turn the ball over twice when we just regained the edge and could have extended a lead.

Clutch free throw shooting though, by Lowry, Landry, and Brooks. I was surprised not to see more Scola+Landry, which we should have gone to in the third. Considering there were no big men to defend anyway, the need for Chuck Hayes isn’t as great. None of the three are great paint presences to cut off drives anyway, Chuck is just the best man to man defender by far. Might as well have stuck with the scorers.

by luislandry on Dec 4, 2009 12:17 AM CST up reply actions

That was unbelievable.

One word for Lowry: ballplayer. There’s almost nothing he can’t do.

(Yes, the old BP ultimate compliment.)

by Xiane on Dec 4, 2009 12:28 AM CST up reply actions

What a way to come back…

… the Rockets looked dead in the water in the early part of the 4th quarter.

But an 18 to 6 run plus that nice defensive move at the end that sorta forced the G.S. travel made it a very nice comeback.

Good teams win these types of games. If only the team can convince the right free agent to come in & join Yao & the Rockets next year. Then this team would be a serious title contender again.

I had to stop arguing with drunks, Steeler fans, and all other fools.
It was making my brick wall jealous...

i would bite on my nails if i have any....

i think this just shows how inexperience with younger players. Ellis just aren’t into the game at last Q, maybe under pressure, or he’s running out of juice. but don’t matter. it’s a sweet win!

coaching

The Ws only helped us by taking Chris Hunter out of the game. Seriously, what in the world prompted their decision to go small? They were doing much better by protecting the paint and hitting transition threes. Instead, AB and Lowry got to the rack literally whenever they wanted (for Lowry, whenever he didn’t fall down). Do they even know who Landry is? That he can’t be contained by good defensive players, nevermind Maggette…this was a horrible move on their part, played in the perfect way to allow Houston’s most explosive offensive players to stay on the field together.
