And HERE we go.
If this was Blazer’s Edge the poll would spell disaster on a game thread. One day. One day.
Warriors are our best chance at winning the tip too
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
So if we can get ellis in Foul trouble when does the
mercey rule come into play
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
would like to see them post up ellis now to draw a 3rd foul
and at least see if nellie sits him
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
Too many TO's fueling Monta's layup lines
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
Bay Area person here,
LETS GO ROCKETS ! :D
hopefully we can take better care of the ball to
close out the half
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie

"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie

yeah you would be too if you hated your coach..
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
Yeah, but there's a self respect issue here
But you know, dog it enough, you can get the coach removed, Right New Orleans?
unless he's your GM too (clippers)
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
Well,
their two good men are out (Bieldrins and Turiaf), and Mikki isn’t good. At all.
Fully expecting Scola or Laundry to get a career high.
by Tam Henry xD on Dec 3, 2009 10:30 PM CST up reply actions
Agreed.
Bieldrins is a really good player. But I doubt the warriors will let go of him.
by Tam Henry xD on Dec 3, 2009 10:43 PM CST up reply actions
Oh they won't.
I just see guys I think would be a great fit, and get covetous.
Despite our hatred of Utah, for example, I’ve alway thought AK47 was a perfect complementary player to Yao. But he’s become such a Utah dipshit, its way too late, and hes way overpaid.
AK47's okay.
The only player I like from Utah is Deron. You know it’s funny, I never liked the Jazz, and I come across this blog and see all this hate on them.
5 MORE LAUNDRY, AND I GET MY PREDICTION.

so what does everybody think......
stick with the threads we have now or go back to the red & yellow? i for one wouldnt mind going back to the way things used to be, got a couple of rings in them. or do you just let the classics stay that way?
"Waiting for the return of the Mac"
"Let VY loose, give him the chance to play his heart out. for himself, for the titans...and for mcnair"
"Titans & Texans fan, dont bug me w/your petty b.s., life's confusing enough."
Wow the PF are mounting,
how deep is their roster tonight, we could see some foul outs
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
Just silly - we should be up 10-12
Rockets are just futzing around. Let’s see what Adelman says to them at the half.
arrrh rockets basketball, gotta love it. my blood pressure does
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
what can i say....i have a man crush
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
He could do a quadruple double - if we get a big lead I say everyone works on getting him one.
just for the aghast expressions on sportscenter, if nothing else.
woot ellis in foul trouble!!
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
interseting half
really thought AB would have about 20 pts already on curry.
everyones playing solid just not taking care of the ball, thats the only thing holding us back
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
oh and 7 blocks has to be a record, let alone in a half !!!

Rudy T is there. Scouting for the Lakers. He looks healthier than Ive seen him look in years. SoCal must agree with him
Or clean living.
pitty it's still not working for bill walton
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
All those years with Jerry Garcia...
Nah, I feel bad for Walton, and hope he gets well. And I’d like to hear his commentary, about 2x a year.
I do too, the man is a realist and tells it like it is
opposed to barkley who thinks his one but just talks dribble…
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
you know, it's weird to think of this,
but only one player on the roster played for Rudy T, and I’m pretty sure Yao’s not traveling with the team right now. Clyde usually doesn’t travel to away games, so the only people from the Rudy era with the Rockets are Bill Worrell and Keith Jones.
Anyone else listening to the Warriors feed?
“Pass & Crash” is a bad rule? Ok, Battier set himself up for those charges, but what idiotic commentary.
So technically it’s illegal to smash into a guy, but the NBA should really look at changing the rule when it’s on a pass.
I fully agree. Other necessary rule changes: elbowing should be legal in certain situations (passes), travelling (when leading up to a pass), and nudity (when the uniform falls off during a pass).
Heh.
The problem with changing the rule is that players will develop plays that send the passer down the lane like a fullback in the NFL, with the express purpose of taking out a defender. So while the rule has its downside, you really don’t want to see that.
no blood no foul
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
Sleepy must be an angry man right now

SCOLA is AAAALIVE!!!
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
AND SO IS BROOKS
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
Actually, I’d like to start calling him “VladRad”. I think I will.

"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
Woah woah woah,
don’t let the Rockets borrow some now.
by Tam Henry xD on Dec 3, 2009 11:12 PM CST up reply actions
still confused as to why you don;t attack their best player if he's got 4 fouls to start the 3rd
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
the 16 TO's only fuels that!

"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
Just wondering why he’s only been playing six minutes. Oh-fer three would do it, I guess, but still…
by DribbleHooper on Dec 3, 2009 11:21 PM CST up reply actions
Ok so we just gave up 38 pts in the qrt, surely it only improves from here

not even in Dallas…
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
Coming from Golden State of Mind
It’s interesting how we don’t notice the bad calls on the other side. We’re all such homers :P
P.S. Did you guys see that goaltend? OMG!
No one, clearly.
Just a weird game. Both sides are deeply unhappy with the refs. Often I think that’s a good thing. Not this time.
Look on the bright side… possible flagrant-2 and ejection.
…for a Rocket, the way the officiating’s going… :p

Wait, they put Radmanovic in?
Why did they take him out? He was killing us.
Not complaining mind you.
And why the heck isn’t Chuck in there to ring up Ellis’ sixth foul??
by DribbleHooper on Dec 3, 2009 11:50 PM CST up reply actions
Oh, trust me...
…plenty of folks are on the Hate Bus for these refs.
by DribbleHooper on Dec 3, 2009 11:54 PM CST up reply actions
I've been impressed with him.
But come on, why does he have to do this against us?
by Tam Henry xD on Dec 3, 2009 11:57 PM CST up reply actions
WOW I'm missing a great end....dam customers
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
sweet! game cast said he missed the first FT...
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
The Yahoo live feed didn’t even mention the first free throw. It just said “Brooks makes the second free throw” with no first throw anywhere.
by DribbleHooper on Dec 4, 2009 12:01 AM CST up reply actions
I say foul Rad Vlad.
He hasn’t been to the line all night. C’mon, people… these stats don’t pad themselves…!
Wow. A traveling call that handed us the win. Un-frickin’-believable.
by DribbleHooper on Dec 4, 2009 12:03 AM CST up reply actions
I know a W is still a W...
…but I can’t say I’m entirely happy that we got one in such shoddy circumstances.
I mean, I’m happy we won… but that was about the lamest way to get it that I’ve yet seen.
Ah, well… on to the next game.

travel
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
I'm pretty sure there was more travel calls then points in this game
"We obviously didn’t know the scouting report that well on Andersen. We knew he’s a shooter but we didn’t see him play at that level." Phil Jackson on underestimating the aussie
Not to be a total anti-Rockets fan but...
But Monta with the last shot? Really? And Maggs at center?
Ask Nellie. I haven't a clue.
Also, Radmanovic was just killing us. Best move? Sit his ass on down! Thanks Don!
my first post, inspired...
Firstly, as soon as I heard them play the final countdown, with the Rockets down 10 or so, I knew we were winning.
Secondly, all we had to do was go to our game. Trevor just played as a solid role player, and let our two best offensive player (Brooks and Landry) go to work based on whatever the defense gave them. The even ran the pick and roll, which they should do even more of.
Also, Battier was riddic tonight. Except for the fact that he didn’t get many open threes, he played a brilliant game. Great D, clutch rebounding in the fourth….
Im glad we got the win, but surprisingly, we got sucked into Warriors Bizarro World.
No D, jacktastic, lots of lazy D – meaning reaches as the driver goes by – no ball security – etc – etc.
The we shook off the effect of those magic mushrooms, remembered we’re the Rockets, and started playing D.
can't believe no one in this thread mentioned
lowry’s insane block in the 4th
true
Though he did turn the ball over twice when we just regained the edge and could have extended a lead.
Clutch free throw shooting though, by Lowry, Landry, and Brooks. I was surprised not to see more Scola+Landry, which we should have gone to in the third. Considering there were no big men to defend anyway, the need for Chuck Hayes isn’t as great. None of the three are great paint presences to cut off drives anyway, Chuck is just the best man to man defender by far. Might as well have stuck with the scorers.
That was unbelievable.
One word for Lowry: ballplayer. There’s almost nothing he can’t do.
(Yes, the old BP ultimate compliment.)
What a way to come back…
… the Rockets looked dead in the water in the early part of the 4th quarter.
But an 18 to 6 run plus that nice defensive move at the end that sorta forced the G.S. travel made it a very nice comeback.
Good teams win these types of games. If only the team can convince the right free agent to come in & join Yao & the Rockets next year. Then this team would be a serious title contender again.
I had to stop arguing with drunks, Steeler fans, and all other fools.
It was making my brick wall jealous...
i would bite on my nails if i have any....
i think this just shows how inexperience with younger players. Ellis just aren’t into the game at last Q, maybe under pressure, or he’s running out of juice. but don’t matter. it’s a sweet win!
interesting read here @
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=AqRrboDHYv7gPLtPfbT2GEu8vLYF?slug=aw-tradebuzz120309&prov=yhoo&type=lgns
don't bully me, i am from the D(etroit)!!!
Its sorta crappy to win on a travel, but I console myself with the idea that the shot clanged anyway.
It wasn’t like Ellis was going to stop shooting it.
coaching
The Ws only helped us by taking Chris Hunter out of the game. Seriously, what in the world prompted their decision to go small? They were doing much better by protecting the paint and hitting transition threes. Instead, AB and Lowry got to the rack literally whenever they wanted (for Lowry, whenever he didn’t fall down). Do they even know who Landry is? That he can’t be contained by good defensive players, nevermind Maggette…this was a horrible move on their part, played in the perfect way to allow Houston’s most explosive offensive players to stay on the field together.
