Season has come to an end

http://t-mac.com/tmac/blogDetail/1519

Hey everyone,

As some of you may have heard, my season has come to an end. My knee hasn’t been right all year, and we can’t seem to get the pain to go away. We’ve tried just playing through it, taking back-to-backs off, and extended periods of rest, but none of it has really been effective in limiting the discomfort and allowing me to just go out there and play. I’ve met with numerous doctors and gotten a number of opinions, and unfortunately I will be undergoing microfracture surgery on my left knee immediately. Microfracture surgery is a serious procedure, but I’m confident that I will be able to return next season with the same strength and explosiveness you are all used to seeing from me.

It has been extremely frustrating dealing with the knee injury this season. It’s been tough on me both physically and mentally and while we’ve come to this conclusion after much deliberation, we truly feel this is best for both me and the Rockets in the long term. As I’ve said before and will say again, I have the best fans in the world. Thank you for all your continued support through the good times and the bad.

I will make sure to keep you all posted on what’s happening with me.

Peace

T-mac

How about

Keeping Rick Adelman posted. Or the rest of the team, perhaps?

yeah

that probably wasn’t the right way to inform your boss of your work-related injury.

Yeah I send my boss a candygram when I'm not coming to work

Recovery from microfracture surgery is a 12 month deal. I would not be surprised of T-Mac has played his last game as a Rocket.

Morey mentioned

in the last press conference that they were trying to get McGrady to go in for some less invasive alternative. And it’s possible to come back in a few months. It’s entirely possible that he’ll be starting on opening night next season, or that he’ll rejoin the Rockets mid-season. Of course, McGrady doesn’t have the best track-record with rehab.

It’s also entirely possible that he decides against surgery. Who the fuck knows what’s going to happen?

Maybe...

The Rockets will actually do well in the playoffs with T-Mac injured. It seems like one and done every time he’s on the roster. (Sorry couldn’t help myself)

It’s really hard to see the Rockets being better without him, but they’ve actually been playing pretty well as of late. We’ll see how it goes against my Blazers, but hey we’re missing Greg Oden to knee woes, and playing pretty well without him, (although he’s really no McGrady, yet.)

Blazers Prophecy.
3-5 championships in next decade.
You heard it here first.
