Amar'e
Now that Amar'e is on the trading block, why don't we make a run at him? I would be willing to part with either McGrady or Artest to get him.
here is the trade: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=25~976~3217~592~1727~2750~454&teams=21~21~22~22~10~10~21&te=&cash=
basically, we give up Ron Artest (crazy), Shane Battier, and Carl Landry, and get back Amare and Ike Diogu's expiring contract.
This would give a real third option besides McGrady and Yao. Let me know what you guys think.
No cursing in title. No pirated material, such as links to online game streams. Thanks.

They might already be doing that

A source close to the Rockets front office told me that the Rockets have explored trading for Stoudemire but that nothing is imminent. It is believed that the Rockets are going to gussy up their trade offer and see if they can get something done. I spoke with one NBA insider who told me not to get my hopes up.

I wouldn't be willing to
give up Artest.
But I REC’d it anyway because you put forward some creative effort!
Nice work.

I love this trade! But I doubt that PHX will go for it...
but the Blazers do have plenty of options for sweetening the deal.

1) The Suns have indicated that Nash is off limits, so I doubt the Blazers could get him.
2) Power Forward really isn’t one of the Rockets’ needs. Granted, Amare can play center, but he’s much better at the 4.
3) While Stoudemire’s defense is much improved this year, I’m not so sure that the Rockets can afford to trade away two of their best defenders for a guy like Amare.
4) It just seems to me that the Rockets give up two good players for a good player at an already strong Rockets’ position. Why would they do this?
I really hope Morey gets something done at the deadline, but this seems to address the Rockets’ offensive problems only marginally and to hurt their defense greatly.

ESPN said
that Amar’e wants to get out of PHX cause he isnt the first option anymore with Shaq there. Because we have Yao i doubt Amare would want to be in houston, cause he still wouldnt be the first option. In my humble opinion though we would probably have to give up Scola to get Amare which i wouldnt mind cause with Amare on the team Scola would play less anyway.

Uhm..
Isn’t the problem with the team right now their lack of defense and intensity? Wouldn’t trading for Amare make it even worse? Plus there’s the belief that Amare doesn’t hustle on defense or go for rebounds if he doesn’t have his share of shots, will he be able to share shots with Yao if he couldn’t with Shaq?

defense and intensity is a problem but i think coach sleepy is the problem. people expect our defense to be as good as it was in van gundy era but adelman isnt a defensive coach so it makes total sense to me that our defense is struggling. our biggest problem to me is our athleticism and amare would easily be the most athletic player on the rockets if we get him.

Adelman
Has been quite good defensively in the past. His high scoring Kings teams were always top ten in team defense.

and
the Rockets are 5th in defensive efficiency. While the effort has been there on some nights, the Rockets are still one of the best defensive teams in the league, once you adjust for pace.
People like to bitch about Adelman, but I honestly don’t see too many problems with him. Yeah, he tends to favor his starters at the end of games, but that’s understandable, given that they’re his best players. But he’s not afraid to go to his bench at any other times.

not sure
Amare needs a solid PG to be effective. We don’t have that.
Amare also plays ZERO defense. And that would infuriate me. Plus he’d steal Luis Scola’s spot in the lineup. We just can’t have that.

or
he takes away Yao’s minutes, which are even less excusable.
The Rockets’ problems are not in the front court.

nah to this deal
dont wanna give up artest battier AND Landry
maybe switch out landry for head…but giving 2 of the top 5 defenders in the league will hurt…

My take
This deal would suck.
The end.
