Artest locking down Roy.. hope he keeps it up
Yao
killing Pryzbilla already.. I just hope we keep going to Yao..
and something wrong with Ron ?
Think
.. he got hurt when he went into the stands.. not sure though..
More have to wait for the change to the fronting defense
it’s coming, either that or Nate’s not as good of a coach as I think he is

Brooks needs to be looking for Yao more
But if he’s not, I like him driving

it’s unheard of to have the most efficient offensive team be the slowest paced team. That’s never happened before.

Apparently Oden's range is under 2 feet

of course
every team is going to complain about it. Sometimes it’s legit, sometimes not. NBA officiating is pretty bad, but it’s tough to ref a basketball game, anyways.
Lord knows we complain all the time. Of course, we’re right about it :)

www.TheDreamShake.com Co-Founder and Writer
Yes, but that's not the point of the line
The point for Vegas is to have just as many people betting the dog as the favorite. That way they make their money off the juice. That’s why lines change, not because they think one team will win, it’s what they think players believe.

Don't be silly. Refs can't give us 88 at the start of 4th
Besides, what makes you think the Refs or anyone else likes Houston? Stern came to give Portland a BJ not us.
That's just silly
This game has been very well called. You are simply bitter because of the score. Every bad call one way has resulted in a make up call the other.
www.TheDreamShake.com Co-Founder and Writer
OK - just one example
(though I could give you MANY more): Steve Blake goes up for a three (first quarter); the Rockets defender (don’t recall who it was) hits him on the arm and he falls into the first row. Why was there no foul on the Rockets player?
Forget it. More examples. At least 3 times in the first half, Roy drove to the basket and was either hacked or bodied by Yao. No call on any of those plays.
Artest cranks up a three in the first half; he misses the shot and at least 2 of the Rockets can be seen with fistfuls of Blazer jerseys. Why no call?
Why is it the Rockets can hack and grab and hold and get away with it, but when Portland tries it, they get called for fouls?
Not sayin’ there’s no talent on the Houston team – you guys have some great players. But the officials are letting them get away with lots of nasty shit. What a crock.

This is pathetic
I can name numerous things from the Rockets side too.
You lost, badly, it had NOTHING to do with the refs, NOTHING
www.TheDreamShake.com Co-Founder and Writer
None of you answered my questions
Not that I really expected you to do so. You have no answer. A foul is a foul is a foul and the refs let Houston get away with many of them. Very poorly officiated game. Portland wouldn’t have won anyhow. Yao and Brooks were great.

You're team played like a bunch of scared little boys
We were physcially dominant. I don’t have to answer questions that you made up. There is no answer, as they aren’t valid questions.
This game was evenly officiated. Every single time you guys bitched about a call not happening, you got a make up on the other end. Every time we bitched about a call being unnecessary, we got a make up call. You are being bitter. I bet if you watched that game back you’d realize that you are wrong.
Yes, a foul is a foul, but it’s not like the Blazers had 50 fouls called against them and we had 20. It was an evenly called game.
www.TheDreamShake.com Co-Founder and Writer
Oh, well
All we can do then is to agree to disagree. Certainly I saw some bad calls go against the Rockets (Fernandez charge on Yao, a Roy flop), but I still maintain that Houston got away with far more fouls that weren’t called than did Portland. The first example I cited was SO obvious – 21000 people in the arena saw Blake get fouled and end up on his back. How did the 3 that matter in that situation not see it?
But, whatever …

Good job Houston
You all taught us a playoff style lesson. How we respond in Game 2 will dictate the remainder of the series. I give Houston full credit for this win. Your guys came with the confidence and execution tonight!
BTW to avoid argument I’d stay away from the BE tonight. Unless you want to see 200 blazer fans blame the refs for this game.
Hello Dum Dum
Agreed
None of you guys be douchebags and talk shit. Wait till next game. We’d be pissed the opposite way

No matter the fanbase
there are always douchbags. No shit talk coming from me. To use the ref argument in a blow out is ridiculous.
I still like our chances in the series but now we have an uphill battle.
Again, nice work.

Hm, don’t know about that. Blazers need a center, not a wing. You don’t let the huge star go, conventional wisdom says, but if the Blazers win a championship with Oden it won’t matter. They’re clicking without a good center, so they could be huge if Oden grows into the position.

so
Thats my rockets…good thing they didnt come back bcz ao had 4 fouls (in which 3 were comepletly BS)…u know when u win by 27 ppl say how can u complain about the refs, the fact is tho that they sucked…and most ppl will look at FT shot comparison and tell me to shutup…well, the rockets drove got hammered they got foul shots, portland drove but got easy layups and putbacks, mostly no fouls…refs call litlle shoves aon yao and refuse to call a charge for yao, but when yao’s on defense touching the guy its an automatic foul…BS
well happy with teh game tho, go aaron and yao!

No ways about it.
The Rockets kick the Blazers butt. See you in Game 2.
I fear for the day Paul Allen is no longer the owner of the Blazers.
He needs to reproduce soon so we have an heir in succession.
Good game by the Rockets.
They introduced Portland to playoff basketball, and hopefully this shows the Portland FO that we do need a PG. So I guess thanks…. in a way. It still sucked.

Especially with the “down” for the ESPN announcer and Avery Johnson. To pick nits though, it’s not fair to have 4 players for your 3 up, unless I’m just unfamiliar with the rules of the game.

Sometimes we get excited.
And we forget how to count. We do our best to reinforce Southern stereotypes whenever possible.
I know I was excited when we drafted him.
I found a lot of video posted by enthusiastic Ducks fans and thought – “Hell yeah, we got our own Frenchie now.”
JVG is a genius
in the Cleveland/Detroit broadcast, he said he thought Houston would “blow out” Portland, and obviously Mark Jackson begged to differ.
JVG looking real good after this demoralizing defeat.
by goingforthecorner on Apr 19, 2009 1:10 AM CDT reply actions
Coaches being honest
are generally more reliable than players being honest. And Jackson has thing about JVG and Houston. Don’t know what we ever did to him, but its real. It’s better than other announcers who are only forcibly reminded that we exist. But to be fair, Portland and whole NW for that matter, suffers from the same aggravating syndrome.
