Ah...
good ol’ 5-15. There you are! I was wondering when you’d show up with that AWFUL, AWFUL teardrop of yours. Have fun Orlando. He’s all yours.

To be fair, Dwight Howard had 12 free throw attempts as well. If Philadelphia didn’t hack him so often he’d have more shot attempts in his statline.
But yeah, I don’t miss the 5-15 nights.

haha
And his team blew a 16 point lead.
that’s why we traded his dumb ass.

I witnessed a 'rafer' or two as well.
Thank the lord that those aren’t in Houston anymore

Not to pile on or anything, but...
But I don’t miss that. Because it will never get better. To beat an overused phrase into complete pulp – Rafer is what he is. It’s not all bad, but its far from all good – and sometimes? It. Just. Fucking. Kills. You.
Brooks? Lowry? Their story is unwritten, and based on last night (and you know, 2008-09), it could end up being quite a tale.
I’m also very happy with our frisky new Lowry, thank you very much Orlando and Memphis! Apparently the young Lowry was not appreciated in his former home, nor was he encouraged to live up to his potential. Welcome to Houston, where talent plays and “set rotation minutes” are dirty words.

Lowry turned out to be a godsend
Except for the fact that he can’t really shoot. Other than that, he’s everything I hoped he’d be

Early days, my friend.
We are talking very young players here. Not every PG steps into the NBA as a fully formed young god like CP3.

but,
(and this is what separates Lowry from Rafer) Lowry KNOWS that he isn’t a good shooter. He’s self-aware enough to figure out that the big guys around him should be shooting, and so he scores pretty efficiently – he shoots close to the basket and tries to draw fouls.

and lowry can hit the 20 foot jump shot
with more consistency than rafer. plus he drives looking for his shot or the foul, where rafer would drive looking for a horrible shot or a dump off to a big guy

Still
It needs to be said that Rafer is better than what they had. Orlando should’ve just taken Lowrey but they still came out ahead in the trade. Actually everyone did, the trade made sense for all parties.

not quite
I don’t think it really made that much sense for Memphis. Lowry is better than Mike Conley, but the Grizzlies just didn’t realize it. So they traded their best young point guard for a late first round draft pick in what is shaping up to be an awful draft class.
Morey absolutely robbed the Grizzlies. He conned the Magic, but he flat out broke into the FedEx Forum, rummaged through their “young talent” cabinet, and made off with all that he could carry.

Eh
Conley was actually playing pretty good ball after Lowrey left. I mean, it makes sense for the Grizzlies in that, they think Conley is their future at pg (and have invested more in him), and they shed some salary (I think they got cash too right?). This is the team where the GM has to beg the owner to let him keep a sub 1 million dollar salary player we’re talking about. I honestly pity the GM, he has to have the hardest job in the NBA.
