Sad day for the league. I’m a Spurs fan, but this makes me feel worse than when Manu got hurt[probably because his career will go on]. Like a punch to the throat.

Whoever wins the title this year should give Deke an honorary ring… I don’t know of anyone with a bigger heart in the whole NBA.

Please get better for real this time, Manu.

spurs fan here as well. Tough to see a great man and ambassador for the league end because of this. I hope that the NBA will, at some point, honor him in some way for what he has done for Africa

I was sad to see him go but proud that the Blazers crowd gave him a standing O. What a champion, what a person, the NBA should make him their director of Community Relations…
