Let's avoid the "Portland sucks" chants, Houston.

I was really disappointed in the "Portland sucks" chants in Game 3.  It was coming mostly from the Portland side of the bench, the seats behind that end of the basket.

We have more class than that.  Portland fans took it out on the refs at their home.  They showed real respect for our team at their house, gave Deke a standing ovation.  We should do the same.

Energy and rowdiness is great, but let's not turn Houston into Utah.

No cursing in title. No pirated material, such as links to online game streams. Do not cut/paste entire sections of content from other websites. Thanks.

Yep, that was pretty bad.

It didn’t seem apropos of anything, either.

Even after the chant

I do not know a single portland fan who doesn’t respect Deke. That guy is a class act, and I hope he continues to work with the NBA for a long time.

There was no reason to rag on Houston in game 1, they played great basketball. (The refs did suck, and they heard it from the fans, they earned that chant)

It’s good to be reminded that there are reasonable Houston fans. I’m looking forward to the rest of the series. (I predict this to go to 7 games)

Before this series there were things I didn’t know about Houston:

How good Yao’s shooting is.

How effective Yao is at tying up a rebounder and still jumping to get the tip in

Aaron brooks is a stud.

Scola is probably the most talented flopper in the league

The rockets respond very well to Adelman’s defensive game plans

Battie is great, but it was not a surprise, neither was the scola loose ball hustle.

Good point....

I mentioned in another post that Houston is not some pompus northern city like Chicago or New York. Here you can wear any sports apparel you want and support who ever you want. We will give you a little shit, but not to the point of slapping your mama or taking away your baby’s pacifier like some Citys I’ve been to up north. Oh yeah I have a slight disdain for these citys who think we’re all shit kickers and rednecks and how they’re shit don’t stink!!!

Eh, no big deal.

“Portland sucks!” is not very imaginative, but hardly worth a complaint. I hope someday we are good enough that someone will invent a Portland version of “Beat El Lay!” I just can’t think of a good one right now.

Come to think of it, Rocket fans would probably get under our skin a lot more in this series if they were shouting “Beat El Lay!”

If you're going to chant something

At least make it creative. As a Blazers fan I thought it was funny and kind of pathetic. I hope you come out with something better than that for Game 4…

Let's agree on one thing

GO JAZZ, BEAT LA!

Here at Dream Shake

we won’t root for the Jazz. But since they’re playing the Lakers, we won’t root against them either. No matter who wins that series, we come out happy.

its called home court advantage for a reason. portland is a young team, why not take advantage of that and use the crowd to get in their head? its not as if on their home floor they dont boo or chant (insert team name here) sucks

Except we didn't

All we chanted in that vein was “These refs suck”.

Still, I have no problem with it, funny to be honest…

Stay classy Rocket fans

If this is an example of your work, then I understand the chant better

I love you."

I’m surprised you haven’t been banned yet. Please talk smack to me, I won’t be back to the thread to see it.

The fact...

This may be the biggest waste of a post ever. Who cares. This is the NBA people. This isn’t the YMCA Basketball Under 12 League. It’s not like Houston fans actually hate Portland. Everyone knows Portland is a sweet town. Frick, I would live to live in Portland one day. Get over yourselves.

chant whatever you want

That’s right, everyone needs to suck it up. Does the chant piss me off? About as much as my chants should piss you off.
I don’t regret telling Yao to take his genetically engineered ass back to China or Scola to cut his greasy f-ing hair. Nor do I regret starting an Artest sucks chant. Does it hurt your rear end to have a young team come so close to beating you? If you do beat us, good luck beating the Cavs. That’s one thing we have in common, neither of our teams can stop Lebron James. For the record just about everyone up North thinks Texas sucks ;)
