Portland getting excuses Ready?
From Yahoo Sports
Roy did not practice Monday afternoon because of flu-like symptoms, but he was listed as probable for Tuesday’s game. A call to the Blazers to provide more details about his symptoms was not immediately returned.
Lamarcus Aldridge who was averaging 16.5 points and 8.3 rebounds for Portland during the playoffs, also didn’t practice Monday because of a right elbow strain. He was also expected to play in Game 5.
The two best players are unjured....

I don't think so..
Both of them play. I expect a close game – a very close game – if the Rockets are to win it. There is a slight chance, if the Rockets don’t come up with their best game, Portland will jump on them, and this could be a blow-out.
How can one be "unjured"
I mean, I know you can be underwhelmed, and overwhelmed, but can you just be whelmed?

The excuse from Blazer fans will be...
…. that we lost to a better team. Get over it.
I AM A PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS SUPPORTER.
Careful what you wish for, Houston...
I seem to remember the last time Roy had “flu-like symptoms” he dropped 40 on somebody.
There are no Excuses, Only reasons
I’ll say one thing about this series — Houston has played way better than I thought they would. Battier has been great, and Artest’s antics haven’t cost you guys a game.
The kets to me were stopping Yao and Brooks, but other guys have stepped up.
Yes, as a Portland fan I can point to horrible officiating, but I have always admitted that Portland had a chance to win both games in Houston down the stretch. Houston has executed well.
Still — its far from over. If Portland wins tonight, and we head back to Houston — where the games have been close — Portland can steal one with just one more bounce going their way. I don’t know if they can steal a game 6, but Houston certainly hasn’t blown us out — save the first game.
No excuses...
- The Rockets are a good team. Not great, but good.
- They match up ridiculously well with us. Bad luck.
- The officiating lost us some games. It happens to the best teams.
- The Blazers are terribly young. We are just begining to grow as a team.
- We laid a “deer in the headlights” game in Game 1. That will never happen again with this team.
- Our coaching staff decided not to develope Jerryd Bayless in the regular season. That wont happen again.
Plain and simple.

Under no circumstances have the officials affected your team
NONE

agreed.
Trent’s 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th points are pretty much on target. Saying the refs lost us some games is ridiculous. Saying Bayless would somehow have been our savior this year is a joke. The guy has some potential, but the reason he is the “chosen one” according to so many Blazer fans has far more to do with the guys playing ahead of him (Blake/Sergio) than anything he’s shown on the court.
How did you guys win that?
"We scored enough points. We scored 107, they scored 105.
-Nate McMillan Postgame, 3/4/2009
Wrong again...
Kevin Pritchard said he was the 3rd best player in that years draft. We got him at 6th.
He’s a big PG that is an athletic freak for the position.
Bayless was the MVP of the summer league. That was a league with Derrick Rose and many other big name players.
When Bayless plays, or should I say knows he is playing significant minutes (20+) on a given night, he plays well.
Also, game 6 just ended, you see what happens when officiating is fair? Nate McMillan should of spoke up sooner. The NBA was steering a less talented team to round 2 before McMillain put an end to that.

Umm yeah.
70 games into his pro career and YOU are calling him a bust? I thought this place had more intelligent fans than that.
Also, its Oden+Bayless instead of Durant.

Flu like symptoms
Every credible insider media source with access to the practice facility, the players etc has reported Roy looks VERY ill today. Regardless, he will ball his ass off. I wouldn’t be surprised if he had his best game of the series, or was forced out of the game due to dehydration. From the credible sources and team insiders I reiterate he’s not feeling normal at all.
Game's over, and I'm still trying to come up with excuses
…for why the Rockets gave up 50 points to two gimpy Blazers :)
