Last year the Utah Jazz took a 3-1 series lead against Houston by winning the first two games at the Toyota Center and then winning one of the first two at EnergySolutions arena. Game 5 was at Houston, where the Jazz were blown out of the building by nearly 30 points. Everything went wrong for them that night.
But when the series returned to Salt Lake City for game 6, the Jazz dominated the second half and won the series that night. Unfortunately, the Rockets were on the losing end.
This year the Rockets have protected their home court extremely well. They pulled out two narrow wins at home over Portland in this series and they won both games against the Blazers at home during the regular season as well. Some would say that statistically its time for Portland to win a game at the Toyota Center, but with Houston now facing a potential game 7 at the Rose Garden if they lose tomorrow, the heat will most certainly be turned up by the Rockets.
I'm seeing incredible optimism through and through by Blazer fans and while I respect the amount of heart, writing out posts and comments "guaranteeing" a Blazer victory tomorrow is foolhearty.
The Blazers will come back to Toyota Center after enjoying a loud and boisterous crowd at the Rose Garden only to be met by the Houston crowd, which I believe will be a huge momentum shift. Portland will play a strong game but in the end Houston's home court and series lead will prove to be too much. The Rockets want this series win too badly to let Portland take it from them. I think this will be a repeat of what happened last season, EXCEPT Houston is going to come out on the winning side. Rockets in 6. Rockets..In..6..
Lets go, Houston. Lets hit them with everything we have tomorrow night.
