Spurs fans want us to lose

According to a recent poll over at poundingtherock.com, more Spurs fans want us to lose to Portland - or at least want Portland to win the Championship (laughable).

That's kind of messed up.  When the Rox get knocked out of the playoffs I usually cheer on the Spurs.

If any Spurs fans here are reading this, you must explain yourselves.

Oh well, hopefully we will smack those poll results around tonight when we take Game 6 with a score of 95-87.

No cursing in title. No pirated material, such as links to online game streams. Do not cut/paste entire sections of content from other websites. Thanks.

The only thought i have

is that

1.) Sore losers.
2.) Blazers have san antonio connections
3.) Blazers have (on paper) a better chance of beating the lakers and thus going all the way.

"Fernandez, to my eyes, is the Blazer who walks that walk most comfortably. A lot of Portland's fans (egged on, dare I say, by their local broadcasters) lament things like how Ron Artest or Yao Ming get to hit Brandon Roy's arms.

But I suspect Fernandez sees all that and thinks: We get to hit arms! Cool!"

Blazeredgers read the poll and voted and thus invalidated the poll…

Shameless.

Ignore all 90% of the Portland votes, and you’ll have the actual poll.

lol, no they weren't, they we asking what Spurs fans thought.

Wouldn’t it be cool if SBNation could implement a “Home Blog” feature that everybody HAD to have in their profile, that would allow the creators of a poll to restrict voters to just that Blogs “Home” fans? Obviously the poll could be left open as well to all of SBNation, but making it closed to only Spurs fans would have been a much better indicator, and this is just one of MANY examples of how easily another fanbase can influence and invalidate the polls. Oh well.

No, it’s really messed up.

what?

I’d cheer on the Spurs way before I’d cheer on the Mavs. F*ck the Mavs. IMO, the only way Texas wins an NBA championship is if either SA or HOU win the Finals. If the Mavs win it, I feel like a Texas team didn’t win diddly.

hey, I agree

Dallas is just south Oklahoma, after all. But I wouldn’t cheer on the Spurs either. They’re a good team, they play good basketball, but they’re still a division rival. It’s not like you’re rooting for the Jazz or anything, though, so it’s still cool.

I guess!

But I consider SA my 2nd NBA team because for the last several years they’ve been all I could cheer for during the playoffs.

I was in Dallas on a business trip when the Mavs lost to the Warriors. It was great.

they're still sore

because we still got the better of them during the hakeem vs robinson era……the dream just kicked robinsons butt so many times you’ll just feel sorry for him…
