Rockets rookie Joey Dorsey remained on the inactive list Sunday despite the injury to Yao Ming because he was not with the team, an absence planned and permitted by Rockets officials prior to the hairline fracture to Yao’s left foot.
Dorsey, in Memphis on Sunday and Monday, was scheduled to rejoin the Rockets in time for Game 5 tonight in Los Angeles. Though he has not practiced with the team in months while battling plantar fasciitis, he is expected to be on the active list but not to play.

Release the Kraken!

The Rockets’ response to learning that Bennett Salvatore is tonight’s lead referee? I would say “yes”. More fouls to give!

How can you expect Joey to make it rain throughout LA

if he’s not getting any playoff court-time?

Also..

What the hell does Joey Dorsey do if he doesnt practice with the team. Does he get paid for just going to Memphis, or home. I mean cmon I would at least keep him informed with the playbook and work him in a few times in practices just to get him more familiar for when he is active and used. I say on whoever made the decision to not have him practicing with the team IN MONTHS..is retarded. Even if the injury makes him not able to practice, he’s with his team. For the time when he’s able to practice he is already comfortable with the team in general.

Ok...well i shouldve read the rest of the article.

Dorsey was in memphis to deal with personal matters. but has been with the team. ignore everything above.

yeah.

It seems like he still shouldn’t be playing if you ask me but it was quite obvious that Brian Cook has no chance of guarding Pau in the event that we are desperate for big men. Might as well have him around though in the worst case scenario he can go in and at least be physical with Paula – I mean, Pau Gasol…

I think it's pretty much

all-hands-on-deck at this point. Wouldn’t be surprised if Adelman, Clyde, CD, or Morey suited up.

Bullard, too. He can probably still hit a jump-shot.

Is this legit plantar fasciitis? Or is it more Maurice Taylor plantar fasciitis? :p

I know I'm not the oah or front office

But we can really use Dorsey and his big body for the rest of the playoffs. I wouldn’t expect him to do any stat sheet work… Just help trouble the Lakers’ bigs.

true

but, if he can’t move his feet because of his injury, then he’s just an ineffective Chuck Hayes.
