The Houston Rockets season ends with a loud "thud"
I have no answers.
Chuck Hayes shot too much.
Luis, Aaron and Von did not shoot enough.
The Rockets lacked size and talent.
.........
Whatever the reason, the season is over.
But the Rockets 2009 season was not a failure. It is a stepping stone towards greatness. Next year will be amazing. Of this I have no doubts.
GO ROCKETS!!!

gotta love
Our season…we won basketball with our heart…we didnt have the most talent, we jsut wanted it more…
it came down to a 4 game series vs “The best in the west”…this 4 game series was without our 2 best players t-mac and yao…yet we still forced it to 7 games…now sure game 5 and 7 were just terrible, but thats what u expect with a relatively young squad on the road in the playoffs…on the road, shots dont fall, and calls dont go ur way (tho in either game 5 or 7, calls had nothing to do with loosing)…
i myslef and very proud of my rockets prooving the whole WORLD wrong and making this a 7 game series…everyone outside of hosuton predicted the lakers in 4 or 5 and MAYBE 6 games…this was with yao, but even after yao everyone thought we wud lose the next 2 games…WRONG we won another 2 games b4 loosing the series…
i love my rockets and looking forward to next season…
i will be making a offseason fanpost, on what i believe should happen this offseason!

I've got lots of respect for this team and it's fans. It was a great series, I just
wish you guys had won. Your team put out an incredible effort being so short handed. I hope the Rockets are healthy next year and can make a better run towards the finals. Good luck towards that end.
Props Rox
Once Yao went down, i and most of the nation though the series was over. To have pushed it to 7 games was awsome. Your a quality opponent and im glad we lost to a class organization.
Warning: next year we will take no prisoners :)
Great Job this year Rockets!

next year
i’m pretty sure we’ll be hearing from the blazers next year…especially if they find a 3rd scoring option on that team – the blazers are looking dangerous for next season

No gloating here..............
good series guys. Tough games, went 7, what more can you ask for. Obviously you would ask for the Rockets to win, but other than that. Get healthy, get ready for war next season. I enjoyed all the friendly and not so friendly back and forth. Later.

As Phil Jackson said...
This Lakers fan is giving the Rockets some fucking credit, Boston’s got nothing on you guys for persevering through injury.
Hope to see you healthy next time.

Another LA fan...
Kudos to you, you lose nothing in losing (well… other than the obvious).
Fantastic effort, awesome stuff.
Look forward to seeing what you put out next season!

keep this team together gents
you got something special here that should be preserved. Sorry it had to end so soon this year..
2009 Houston Rockets
Im the biggest Laker Fan in the world and this series has been gut wrenching (i really didnt like the physicality of this series) …but i must tip my hat to the Rockets their organization their fans and their team ….a well played series and a bright future ahead with your coach and roster ( just stay healthy)…you guys played with character and heart and are champions in my book
hope you like it for the next decade
because it’s gonna be 24/7 KING JAMES if he wins it this year. I can already see the NBA Script:
Kobe Byrant: The once loved young superstar following in MJ’s footsteps, who goes wayward once success gets to his head, and while possibly the best player in the league, he follows the Dark Side.
Lebron James: The anti-Kobe. MJ’s heir, the dethroner of the supposed best player in the game, a physically gifted freak no normal man can relate to.
Carmelo Anthony: The lovable loser, Lebron’s punching bag. The NBA’s Dan Marino to Joe Montana (Lebron).
Dwayne Wade: Lebron’s sidekick, and biggest good guy rival. Never can overcome Lebron, despite tasting success earlier in his career than the Chosen One (who had to be tried by fire first).
have to disagree...
Carmelo is one of the most underrated, AND GREAT players. and can’t see where you got the whole lebron’s punching bag statement from? now that the rockets are out, im hoping Melo and the nuggets can knock out the lakers and create the Nuggets-Cavs showdown, IF the cavs make it to the finals, they got the magic next, not a pushover or a team full of youngins as they had in the first and second round. plus they play in the east….THE EAST. all in all a Melo-Lebron matchup would be badass, in my opinion.
lots of joking
I for one am a strong anti-conspiracy theorist. But it’s funny how the NBA has such perfect storylines sometimes. Melo’ as Lebron’s punching bag is a reference to if Denver makes it to the Finals. In the Awesome Trio of Lebron, Melo, and Dwade, Anthony is definately the worst of the three, in terms of talent, success, attitude, and reputation.
But since he plays in the West, I can see him becoming Lebron’s punching bag in a string of Finals, much like Wilt was to Russell. I don’t forsee a Bird-Magic rivalry here (because both have to have success against each other for such a rivalry to exist.)
People can root for the Lakers all they want.
Nothing’s gonna stop LeBron this year. It will be interesting to see how the Lakers-Nuggets series unfolds, though!
Yes! Yes! In the face!
people keep saying the rockets lack talent....
I don’t see how this is so? I think the Rockets have a crapload of underrated and unnoticed talent. Size though is something they definitely lack.
I agree.
Houston has plenty of talent. Losing both its players over 7ft killed us.
In the bad losses to LA, 5/7 – wouldn’t Yao have been nice to have there? When you can’t buy a bucket, Yao can generate something. Or he can free up another player to score.
I also think Deke could have played the same minutes as Bynum and shut him off.
So it goes.
Thanks to the polite and respectful LA fans out there for paying their respects.
Go to the light. Go to the light...
