I want everyone to just imagine...

Forget all the injuries, and let's think positive here. Fast forward to next year opening round in the 2010 NBA Playoffs. Your Houston Rockets are the number one seed in the West and our starting lineup for the first game is:

Aaron Brooks - PG

Shane Battier - SG

Tracy McGrady - SF

Ron Artest - PF

Yao Ming - C

I know the probability of this lineup staying in Houston for next year is up in the air. I know the speculation of us being the number one seed in the West is unlikely given the nature of the game. I know that we've had so many injuries to these guys that it's hard to be optimistic that they're all healthy throughout the season, much less going into the playoffs. I don't care.

I like to imagine this exact scenario happening. As much as it may be a pipe dream. I know that if we were fielding that starting 5 with everyone healthy the possibility of a championship in Houston is very likely. For now we'll just have to wait and imagine.

Yeah that starting 5 would be bad news.

Scola will be a starter, if T-Mac is healthy/still on the roster, either he or Ron will be coming off the bench.

thats what we want

thats 12 ppl tho…and we really need a backup center (gortat anyone?) so one of those might have to go…dorsey?

I think if Joey D is in the rotation we dont need a backup center

We would be short at times, but we would have depth on the front line. Yao, Scola, Landry, Hayes, and Dorsey to split time between 2 spots would be nice.

Morey has said we are going to trade into the draft. That means trading someone or future draft picks which i doubt. I dont know who we would trade though.

The point though is that you need size if/when Yao goes down

We have depth, we need depth with height now.

I'd like to see

Tmac off the bench, limit his mins so he’s less fragile and he would domiate the other teams bench if he’s back and fit.

"It's who we are," Battier said. "I don't think we're going to get the love of the six foot blonde bombshell. That's what the Lakers are here for. It's alright, I like our demographic."

I can't see Battier

being very effective in that role. I’ve always thought of the 6th man as more of a high octane scorer in the most of Barbosa, Terry or Ginobili not so much a defensive specialist. If you’ll notice most of the defensive specialists (Dahntay Jones, Battier, Artest, etc) start even if they don’t play too many minutes. When they get older and come of the bench they become almost useless as Bruce Bowen can probably tell you.

All good lineups

Seems like T-Mac would have to be in the bigger lineup. When we went small against the lakers we fared better when we pushed the ball instead of running half-court. Although if we’re going to be trading into the draft we might not have some of these guys by the time next year rolls around. I think we all trust Morey though.

Go Rockets.

in my opinion

One of Artest or T-Mac shud come off the bench…during the game they can play together, but i dont think we shud put them together for so much…they dont look like they can play well with each other…who knows tho, maybe they can
