The loss to the Lakers and the series in general exposed our needs for the offseason. The first order of business is to get Yao some rest and add...dare I say..Zaza Pachulia from Atlanta to be a backup to our bigman. To make room, we'll part ways with Cook. And for the Longhorns with aspirations of a reunion, I'll even say we can send a text message to Chris Mihm.
Going down the list in order of most important to least important, the next line of business is to add an NBA legal-size guard. Despite my personal feelings about the Lake-show, I will take, let's say a Shannon (6-4 211) Brown and add that small salary to a backup role for Brooks. I'll go as far as considering Flip Murray.
Obviously Artest brings a certain element to your team and despite what the naysayers write (mostly from Detroit) we bring him back and ensure he works on that jumper. In case it falls through, I'll take a younger more athletic Dhantay Jones from Denver as the defensive specialist.
My hope is that T-Mac returns to form. If it doesn't happen we need to make a trade this year when we can get something in return. As a stop-gap measure, I'll place a call to Ben Gordon and ask him about hitting 3's with open looks that a 7'6 center can get you.
Of course this is just my dream world and we'll make moves that dwarf my little ideas.
