TMAC ++FOR TURKOGLU++TRADE OPTIONS?
Just a wild thought, if we trade t-mac, brent barry, chuck hayes for turkoglu, pietrus, and gortat..of the orlando magic ...
would it be beneficial to our team rockets, is it a fair deal ? or we just make the team intact and hope everyone will be physically healthy and restore the dream once again .to be the 2009-2010 nba champion...
what do you think guys? give your comments and/or suggestions on this subject?

Let's pretend that the CBA doesn't exist, so that we can act like this trade is even possible.
So the heart of this trade is McGrady for Turkoglu, right? If you’re the Orlando GM, why would you ever trade Turkoglu – your third-best player (2nd-best with Nelson out) – for Tracy McGrady? McGrady MIGHT be ready to play at the start of the season, but it’s more likely that he’ll miss some time. And we’re not even sure he’ll be able to play anywhere close to the level he once did. Financially, Turk is cheaper, his contract expires at the same time, and he actually provides some value for next season. How is this in any way good for you?
Now, in reality, you can’t trade Gortat, because he’s an RFA. You can trade him later in the season, though. Still, you’re effectively exchanging Gortat for Hayes. So Gortat, an effective offensive center who plays pretty good defense is traded for Hayes, a great defender with absolutely no offensive game. And he’s really an undersized power forward, not a center. Why would you ever do this?
And Barry for Pietrus? Do we really have to look at that?
Beyond all of that, the numbers probably don’t work.
Look, ridiculous trades happen all the time. But they don’t happen between Orlando and Houston. They’ll involve teams like Minnesota, Sacramento, Golden State, Indiana, Memphis, etc.: teams desperate to cut payroll obligations. Orlando’s trying to contend, and they’re not going to try to dump their good players on other teams.

then why/how would you trade for him?
seriously, people. Cut it out with the stupid trade ideas.

GET OUT OF MY WAY, ALL OF YOU. THIS IS NO PLACE FOR LOAFERS. JOIN ME OR DIE. CAN YOU DO ANY LESS?
I'm partial to the possibility Adande and Simmons mentioned in his last podcast
Kobe opts out of his contract, signs with Houston for the MLE for one year.

I agree the proposed trade makes no sense at all, but your comment reminded me this one: Tracy McGrady and some crap for Steve Francis, Cuttino Mobley and Kelvin Cato. If you focus just on the players, It looked pretty ridiculous at the time and even more now.
So let’s say it happened once.

It happened when Houston was Houston
but Orlando wasn’t Orlando. Orlando was in rebuilding mode and was trying to sell high on McGrady. Weird, lopsided trades will happen between teams when one is attempting to offload long-term contracts and gain some payroll flexibility.

dont trade hayes
you can keep that trade but dont trade hayes.hayes been helpful to the team.he just need to learn how to score more then he would be good.
Never Understand These Comments
With the Rockets, its that Hayes just needs to learn how to score more. With the Astros it was always that Everett just needed to learn how to hit .330 with 20 HRs. People can’t just “learn” how to do something out of the blue. Hayes has been working with coaches his entire life. If he can’t score now, its a good bet that he’s not going to learn to over the summer.
Coach: Hayes, you should score more.
Hayes: Hmm. I had never thought of that. How do I do it?
Three hours later:
Scout: Why, he’s even better than Jordan! Who knew?

Haha...
Thats hilarious.
But I’ll say this, crucify me if you must: I’m only a marginal baseball fan, but I read that Everett’s defense and marginal offense was the equivalent of being a middle of the road starting SS in this league. In fact, around we picked up Tejada, it was said that he (who at the time was expected to be a premier hitter at the SS position) would only give us about 9 or 10 more runs over the course of the season, all told. Again, I don’t really follow baseball that much, so take those comments for they’re worth.
BUT I will say this, whenever Hayes is on the court (lack of offense and all) the Rockets are a better team, especially (but not limited to) when the other team has a premier post offensive threat in the game. He’s our best pick and roll defender (even better than Scola), hes our best post defender, he such a big charge threat its like having a shot blocker in the low post when hes in the game, and on top of all that, he almost NEVER makes a mistake on the defensive end as far as positioning goes (doesn’t sound like much, but that wins you games over the long run). Don’t forget that on offense, hes a massively underrated passer on the hig post/elbow.
You’re absolutely right, he’ll never have any scoring ability in the league. I contend, however, that we should NEVER EVER trade him. Only Morey (and maybe Pritchard’s boys) know exactly how valuable this guy is. Its like the old van in your garage. Whats the point in selling it? It works fine and is a lot more valuable to you than it is to anyone else.
Ok. My Ode to Chuck has now concluded (for now). ;)

While it has nothing to do with basketball, you’re correct. When he was at his best, he was a slightly above-average player, on the whole.
As for Chuck, I think fans tend to undervalue these types of role-players: the ones who are extremely one-dimensional, doing only a single thing extremely well (Chuck’s low-post defense, Novak’s ability to hit the three, etc.).
We tend to undervalue these players by not realizing the value of a guy providing exceptional help in one area. Chuck really stood out in the Lakers series, but he provided a lot of help throughout the season (I remember him coming in during that 2nd Celtics game. Garnett was tearing up the Rockets’ defense, Adelman sent Chuck in, and he proceeded to absolutely destroy Garnett’s offense). And having one guy who can shore up a critical are for your club can win you a game or two. In any case, it’s a lot better to use that 12th roster spot on a guy like Hayes than it is to spend it on a guy like Zach Randolph or something.
At the same time, we tend to overestimate these players by forgetting that they are what they are. Yeah, it’s possible that Hayes suddenly develops a jump shot over the summer, but it’s pretty unlikely. It’s possible that Novak figures out how to defend and score in the low post, but he probably won’t. Hayes won’t develop an offensive game, and that’s alright.
What’s weird is that overestimating Hayes in this way undervalues what he brings to a team. He doesn’t really need to be an offensive dynamo to be a part of a great team. He just needs to do what he does best and come off the bench for a few minutes each game.
Now, if you get an opportunity to trade him for something fantastic, then it’s a good idea to pull the trigger. Chuck’s ultimately a very replaceable player (there are plenty of guys in each draft who will become decent specialists). Chuck’s a valuable player, but there are others out there who can do the same thing.
But it’s very unlikely that anybody would offer anything spectacular for Chuck Hayes, and you shouldn’t just give him away.

did isiah thomas take over tha magic recently?
cuz thats tha only way tha magic even think about that deal

Isaiah would never make a deal
that helped cut salary.
"Hip-Thrust!" - Hard Gay
In case you're wondering, Hard Gay is married.
You'd probably have to modify it.
Give up Landry or Scola to Golden State instead of Barry. Barry can shoot 3’s, which Nelson loves, but he probably wants someone a bit more athletic. And, conceivably, Jefferson would be playing the 4 for Houston, so we can give up one of the two PF’s.

Rockets get Al Jefferson and Maggette, Timberwolves get McGrady’s expiring contract and Turiaf’s much more reasonable contract (and probably draft considerations or something), Warriors get Mike Miller and Landry. Everybody wins (well, except for Minnesota)!
The guys over at Canis Hoopus seem to think the T-Wolves are going to try to compete next season, but there have been a lot of discussions about trading Jefferson for some depth or just outright gutting most of the team.

id love al jeff...
but it would be very hard for me to guive up scola and even more hard to give up landry,,,,
