Well folks, this coming week looks like a dandy:
2009 US Open ends Monday: Maybe Tiger makes a run for is 15th Major Championship
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen comes out Wednesday
The NBA Draft is Thursday
Storylines for the Draft
1.) Will Blake Griffin be able to lift the LA Clippers out of the basement and make them somewhat respectable or even (gasp- an NBA champion)?
2.) Which point guard will go off the board after Ricky Rubio? Will it be the ultraquick Jonny Flynn, the offensive sparkplug Steph Curry, the uber-talented (but stats decieving) Jrue Holiday, the passing savvy Tyreke Evans, Euro-balling Brandon Jennings or the very unheard from Jeff Teague (well in my opinion; I hear more about the other 5 guys)
3.) Will Memphis take Ricky Rubio, knowing full well what happened to them 1999 may come back again? Or will they take Hasheem Thabeet, who recently pulled out of a workout with Memphis due to injury? Or do they look elsewhere, taking a guy like James Harden or Jordan Hill, guys who should be picked no higher than 4th in this draft? Of course, they could also trade the pick too, so who knows what these guys will do.
4.) Which team is poised to make a huge trade and either dump multiple picks to move up in the draft or sell their pick to a team without such a selection?
5.) And of course, what about the Rockets? What will Daryl Morey come up with this year? 2 years ago he took Aaron Brooks and turned a 2nd rounder into Carl Landry. Last season, he turned Nicolas Batum into Donte Greene who eventually morphed into Ron Artest. What will we see this year from our MIT GM?
If Houston trades into the draft, where do you want the pick to be?
