Would he want to come over?

He’d be a 32-year-old backup to Yao, and there has to be a reason why he hasn’t come over yet. Granted, its an option, and he can play the Dikembe Mutumbo role. Depends on whether or not this team wants a center who plays a lot or plays like Deke did.

and there has to be a reason why he hasn’t come over yet.

Yeah, it’s because he’s not any good, and the only reason he was ever given any serious consideration as an NBA player is because the Knicks are stupid. He’s bounced around sub-Euroleague teams for the past decade, and if he were able to contribute to an American team he would have done it several years ago.

Be patient. We’re going to get that backup center in either Free Agency or trade, and something will happen in the next few weeks, I’m sure.

and, of course,

there’s the immortal dunk:

I don’t like to evaluate somebody’s defense by a single highlight-reel play in international competition, but Carter rocked his shit. And when that’s all you’re known for, it’s not a good sign.

that video still makes me cringe when i watch

That was just so mean. My favorite dunk all time outside the NBA . Sucks that this is how that guy will be forever remembered. I highly doubt he will ever suit up in the NBA, even with the current Yao crisis.

A Good Point On Getting A Center

I Think Grabing Any Rights To A Player That Could Help The Rockets Right Off
Whether It Be A Starter Or A Player That Can Contribute Points,Rebounds,Etc.
Yao Needs Help And The Rockets Need To Deal T-Mac Why Hold Onto Him And His Big Overrated Contract If He Cant Produce When Needed.
We Got into The PlayOffs Pretty Well Even Without T-Mac’s Services.
Instead Of Signing These Players We Trade Em Then Later They Win Rings With Other Teams.
Thats What The Rockets Real Probelm Is ..Helping Yao And Dealing T-Mac
Any Year When It Comes For His Contract To Expire He Go’s Down. Then Later Traded
To A New Team Who Has To Suffer With That Type Of Player.

you’re pretty good at using the shift key.

but yeah. carter took him out. the fella coulda just hopped and it wouldn’t have happened. not even a full jump would’ve been necessary.

13 points in 39 seconds. Enough said.
