After trading for Andersen...What's the next move?

GM Morey recently mentioned that the Rockets would be doing two things:

1) Acquire a Center via trade - CHECK = David Andersen

2) That he was "targeting" another Free Agent & that an announcement would likely come with a week or two.

Its been about a week since Morey said those things & now that he's acquired the center, I'm curious to see who he has in mind for the Free Agent? Personally I have no idea...I'm just hoping its a SG...Heck for all we know Von Wafer could be the target?

Do any of you guys know anything on this subject? Who he might go after? I've tried to look into this, but haven't found anything or anyone worth mentioning...

Believe it or not with the acquisition of Andersen, I now want to trade for Amare even more now. Don't know if this will happen or if its even feasible, but if Amare & Richardson come on board & in return we give up McGrady,Landry & 1st round or Scola...not sure the numbers match (I'll look into that)

Can you imagine this fast-paced Adelman offensive team?

Brooks, Richardson,Ariza,Amare,Andersen

and off the bench: Scola,Battier,Lowry,White,Hayes,Dorsey,Taylor,Budinger

We could contend this year with this team, plus still have Yao when he returns...OK I'll STOP dreaming now!!!

No cursing in title. No pirated material, such as links to online game streams. Do not cut/paste entire sections of content from other websites. Thanks.

The Amare Thought

I liked that trade initially, but I’ve cooled on my stance because Amare is not the kind of player Houston goes for. They go for high-IQ guys who have shown to play team-defense or are willing to learn how to play team-defense. Amare does NOT fit that profile.

They could target another 7-footer though, but who’s left?

In Daryl Morey, Rick Smith and Ed Wade we (usually) trust.

You're probably right...It was wishful thinking....

Another 7’0’’, really? I would have thought that they’d target a pure scoring SG. I mean look at our current starting 5:
Brooks
Battier
Ariza
Scola
Andersen

It looks like a high IQ team that will play with heart & some serious D, but where do we get the points??? Maybe Brooks starts to AVG 20 PPG next year? Or maybe Ariza? Or Scola? Otherwise, its pointless to hold opponents to under 100 points if you only score 85/90 range….Maybe T-Mac is ready by then & we get the 25 PPG?

Chris Wilcox

The free agent is Wilcox, that move may just set up some sort of trade.

huh?

Wilcox is just as dumb as Amare… if not dumber. And he’s had 7 years to show he can play and has not gotten better. Ever.

I'm not saying I want the guy!

I heard from a reliable source that we offered him a contract, just reporting what I was told.
The original question asked who the free agent might be. We did not apply for the injury exception for nothing.

Yeah I just heard the same thing...on a guys >Twitter page

Wilcox has apparently received two offers…one from Houston, one from Cleveland…
I’m puzzled as to why go after Wilcox? Especially after trading for Andersen…

Morey knows best…I’m sure…

Oh, and I haven't exactly seen a contract in place for Anderson

Did I miss that happening? If not then we still have to get that done

Andersen
They are just about done coming to an agreement. He can’t sign until cleared by Fiba, which is a procedural step required to switch leagues. Completing negotiations and getting that clearance are formalities at this point. — Jonatthan

J. DORSEY

He can be a good option..besides hes doing good in the summer league.. its high time..to give J.D the break…rather than chasing AMARE “Kamikaze” Stoudomire..

Rockets Need a Center

Despite the hype over Andersen the transition to NBA play may be quite…hmm…bumpy. It won’t be an automatic and even if he is an NBA-caliber guythe Rockets still need another option in the center spot. Is Wilcox the right guy?
I don’t know but the Rockets need another option at center who has actually played in the league.
Please get us a center!! And while we are at it, I’d like Carlos Boozer as well.
