Can Rashard finally come home?

After passing on him 3 times in the draft, to get three players we no longer have, does anyone think there will ever be a chance that we can bring Rashard Lewis back to his hometown here in Houston?  The Magic have signed Brandon Bass,  a low-post PF, the complete opposite of Rashard, does anyone think that should the Magic have a bad season this year and not win the Finals, that they will look to trade Rashard, a finesse player, who to me doesnt fit Orlando's style of play, and bring him back home to Houston.  I know it sounds like a long shot, but anything is possible.

No cursing in title. No pirated material, such as links to online game streams. Do not cut/paste entire sections of content from other websites. Thanks.

Battier?

Why would we need Battier? For Defense? Battier is an intelligent person, who realized coming out of Duke that he wouldnt score 20ppg or more in the league. So what did he do? He began to think defense, and I dont know Shane personally, but i’m sure Coach K gave him a little fyi before leaving college, and told him what his primary focus should be. I think many players in the league can play the same D as Shane if they are taught, it just seems right now most players in the league are only focused on trying to become the next freak athlete like Lebron!

battier is not replaceable.

if you rewind about 5 years ago for bruce bowen, then maybe

13 points in 39 seconds. Enough said.

Battier is the mj of defense

Its pure talent..with a lot of heart..
Very rare to find in the League…there is no reason for him to be traded..its a no-brainer..

Wait what? Rashard doesn't fit the Magic's style of play???

How does he not fit? Pound the post with Dwight and space the floor with shooters. Lewis is most certainly a great shooter. So how does he not fit?

HELLO

Rashard makes 18 million per season. We can’t pay him.

Like I said, do some research.

Apparently

This is what you get for asking people to quit it with the ridiculous trade ideas.

contributing nothing substantial to your blog, since 2008!

Th only way that would happen is if the Magic lose a ton of games and we basically do a cap dump for nothing

Which would look something like this, Rashard Lewis (19 million) and JJ Redick
(3 million) for Tracy McGrady (23 million)

Id say no

He is too expensive!

He would no doubt sell more tickets if he played in red though. I know the last game Orlando was in Houston, my Dad and I got a pair of the tickets he buys for his friends and family in Houston. 6,000 dollars worth I was told. I met his brother and wife too. Though his brother and immediate family got floor seats, we sat in 70 dollar seats with his bodyguards and friends.

He was snub by Houston during draft 3 times. That really hurt the guy. Clyde Drexler even persuaded him to play for houston when he was FA but choses Orlando. So that will be a very long shot.

The Rockets were offering him the MLE

Orlando offered him the Taj Mahal, Clyde could have told him that Orlando was going to slaughter his first born and he still was going there

They had no other choice

There was 0 other dollars available and Seattle wasn’t interested in a sign and trade. Not to mention neither were the Rockets really
