What's the update on Von Wafer?
I haven't heard recently on Von Wafer's fate as a Rockets. Will he still be staying in Houston?
I hope he will.. coz' Von is one of the important nucleus of the team due to his high octane razzle dazzle play that really fits houston Brand of play under Adelman system.. He's very explosive and got a lot of arsenal offensively,he just need fine tuning on his offense, especially on defense..But his never say die attitude and a lot of heart epitomizes Houston Legacy as a champion.
So guys do you have any information about Von? will he be staying? or its von voyage already? (hope not)

Von Wafer
With the injuries to Yao Ming and Tracy Mcgrady the Rockets need all the offensive help they can get and it surprises me Daryl Morey, being the saavy GM he is, hasnt made Von Wafer a higher priority.
Wafer stated July, 3rd on his twitter page:
“thanks for the support — I wanted to come back but the Rockets don’t want me. I will come back strong somewhere. maybe the clipers.”
Now to me this translates into " I just had a terrific season and you pursue and sign Trevor Ariza before you offer me a contract, fine im out."
Now this may be a bit blown out of proportion but i feel for Wafer.
Him saying this on his twitter does not necessarily mean he is leaving houston , he could very well have just been acting on emotion and Morey and him could be working out a contract as we speak.
I believe Wafer and the Rockets will make up and he will be a Rocket next year because lets face it his services are desperately needed next season.

And if Von really thinks he's worth more than Ariza he's crazy
But I do want Wafer back, and I think Daryl Morey does too. Let’s not forget that the team is all business on these things. I still firmly believe Von will be a Rocket

And here's the thing, Scoop
Von isn’t as cheap as guys like Chase Budinger, Jermaine Taylor, and/or James White. It would make much more sense to pay less money for guys like Budinger who can replace Von’s scoring numbers.

True.
Budinger has shown he has the slashing and 3 point stroke in the Summer League. Now for the big show – that’s the real test.

not sure
Wafer wants money… but the economy sucks and he finished the year in the coach’s doghouse and showed a bad attitude.
I’m sure Morey would offer him a 2 year $3M deal… but Wafer thinks he is entitled to some mid-level money. For some completely unexplained reason.

I'd be surprised if he gets anything close to the midlevel
he’ll probably get a contract like Channing Frye… a 2 year 2 million dollar with an opt out for the 2nd year

The bloke couldn't get any mins
before he arrive in Houston and I don’t see that changing…. Unless he wants to go to the Bucks.
He’ll be back just before training camp for 1.2-1.8 a season over 2-3 years.
It’s got landry written all over it.

I hope Von Wafer spent some part of his summer
learning how to pass and play defense. Much as I love his aggressiveness last year, I think either Taylor or Budinger is already an upgrade for us, and I would love to see them develop.
