Why not go for Tyson Chandler

This makes sense to me! I think he would be way better then a unproven center like Marcin Gortat. We can trade Battier and Cook , the Hornets need forwards anyway with Peja Stojakovic be injured all the time now... I ran it through the Trader Checker at realgm.com and it works. As much as I love Battier and hate to see him leave, to me this is good for all involved... and I have no emotional ties to Cook...  so get it done Morey!

Because another center with foot problems is exactly what we need.

Because I wouldn't want to get rid of Battier

Because Battier should NOT be sent away in a deal. We’ll need his pearls of wisdom next season.

In Daryl Morey, Rick Smith and Ed Wade we (usually) trust.

He is expendable

I would trade Battier and Cook for Gortat. For Tyson I woul pull the trigger in an instant. Trevor is a younger, more athletic Shane.

but no where near as intelligent about the game.

no chance. Hornets are looking for non-guaranteed contracts or players with expiring contracts willing to be bought out because they can’t afford to pay luxury tax. the Rockets have neither.

yep

that’s why that chandler-for-Wallace deal has been floating around.

the Rockets have neither

Well, James White’s contract isn’t guaranteed. And the same goes for contracts extended to the second-round picks, but I’m pretty sure something around $3million isn’t going to make the numbers work.
