"You define a guy's character when something goes bad for that player and you can really tell if he really wants it or not," McGrady said. "This could have been a make or break year for me.

"I could have easily laid it down and called it a career, but no I'm not finished. I've got some unfinished business. I will not go out like this."

Man that is the best news I’ve heard all offseason! I can’t think about this I’m so amped up and ready for him to play right now. I know that none of this is 100% accurate, but he just sounds so damn confident and some of that footage of him working out made me believe that he is going to be a superstar again. And for his trainer to put his reputation on him dunking like he used to means alot I’d assume.

If Tmac can come back before allstar break, then I’d bet we are definetely going to be in the playoffs, and do damage during them. Our team is still an 8th seed team in my opinion right now, and with Tracy added we will be just as good last year. Because when games got serious in the postseason Yao was shut down half of the games. I can’t imagine it will be just as easy stopping Tmac, because it’ll be like Shane trying to shutdown Kobe.

AND I know im jumping the gun BIG time right now, but if he came back 100%, brought us into playoffs, maybe even the 2nd round, I honestly think I’d want to keep Tmac regardless of his past. For all we know this surgery could be the last because it was done right. But that is a huge gamble and I understand if anyone disagrees with me.

Overall I’m just so excited for him to come back from a terrible year and get the love he deserves.

how is this "news"?

In the legal world, we call this “puffery”.

whoa

Let me not get my spirits up yet, but those videos did look promising. Looks like he added a little muscle mass too. When McGrady is in peak form he was always an elite player. Remember the winning streak. How was that not elite? People liek to look at his 4th quarter performance, but damn!! you cant do it all by yourself……Even Kobe would run out of gas at some point.(Not saying he is on Kobe’s level)

I get the fact that he posted his surgery on his website which is pretty sissy. However, T-Mac can be that elite, superstar this team needs. I hope he comes back and plays well. Best of luck to him. Everyone needs to realize that we can’t trade him, he makes 20+ million and he won’t play until after the all star break.

Seems to me he made a good choice of trainers

And that he’s actually taking it seriously this time. Sometimes guys just need the “worst” to get to their best. I really, really hope that’s the case and McGrady comes back and dominates. I don’t know if I believe it to be possible, but this is more encouraging than discouraging. He has absolutely put on muscle mass too which he’s needed forever
