Rockets Granted Disabled Player Exception, Use it on Ariza
Basically, this means that Yao is almost definitely out for the season. The DPE gives the Rockets another MLE to work with, and that might mean they'll pursue one of the remaining centers on the market (Zaza, Nesterovic, etc.)

how about this?
Both Paul Millsap and David Lee are still on the market.
Now, I know that the conventional wisdom would be “The need a true center,” and I agree that a true center is a big help in constructing a team, but none of those currently on the market really strike me as anything worth pursuing.
And the Rockets did very well over the past two seasons when running small lineups. Why not go all-out with that?
Of course, the problem signing another FA lies in the Rockets’ long-term financial and cap health, but I think having either Millsap or Lee would be very interesting.

I love David Lee
I’m not sure he can play even 5 minutes of center, but who knows?
I think more likely this means the Rockets sign Von Wafer

What if
The Rockets signed David Lee, then used Landry in a deal to get a center.
