Artest Holding a Grudge against the Rockets
Via Rotoworld - Ron Artest stated in a recent Twitter post that the Rockets "messed up my bird rights...So it's on as long as I'm in the league."
This should make Artest's first visit to Houston rather eventful, and we're just hoping he doesn't get carried away by his perceived injustice. He vowed that he will play "all defense", adding, "Somebody getting locked da f*** up." Note to fantasy owners -- when the Lakers play the Rockets, think twice about using Trevor Ariza.
Via Hoopsworld - The latest from Ron-Ron (Artest)-- who you may remember from such stunts as giving his cell phone number out to the general public -- is that he's not at all happy with the way things ended with the Rockets. Specifically, he claims that they "did him dirty" by "messing up" his Bird rights, and because of this, he plans on carrying out a vendetta against them as long as he's in the league.
Over two separate Twitter dispatches, Artest explains why he's upset.
"Houston did me dirty. I can't wait til next year when we go to Houston. I'm not shooting. All defense. Somebody getting locked da f**k up."
"I still feel blessed but they messed up my bird rights. So it's on as long as I'm in the league."
So is Artest justified in holding a grudge against his former team, and threatening some sort of revenge against them for all of this? Of course not. But anytime a player goes on the record as saying "it's on" against another team, you can guarantee we'll all be watching a little more closely.
OH no, I'm scared!
No cursing in title. No pirated material, such as links to online game streams. Thanks.

I guess the Rockets didn't want to bring him back?
I just figured he was ready to skip town after the season was over.

Haha ... this guy is laughable
I pretty much thought Ariza did a good defensive job on him during the play-offs. All we need to win is for Ron-Ron to get a little “crazy” and out of control … and distract Kobe

wow he thinks he is all bad ass now
since he is on the best team in the league. i would love to see him play defense on our best scorer which is ABZ. artest needs to learn when to shut up and he will be frowned upon in L.A after he does his 24 second dribblethons there. have fun with kobe bitching at u all the time ron ron.

Here's an idea Ron Ron
Don’t jump on the media bus in only your underwear if you want the team to respect you!
Poster for next year? I'm thinking My Little Pony.

odd
If he played better and earned the money, the Rockets would have gladly “enabled” his Bird rights…

Plus, how do you screw up a guy's Bird rights?
Either you want to sign him or you don’t seems pretty simple

I thought you had to sign 3 x 1 year contracts
to be eligible to Bird rights? And we got him in the last year of his contract from Sac and he signed a multiyear deal in LA? can someone please clarify
"It's who we are," Battier said. "I don't think we're going to get the love of the six foot blonde bombshell. That's what the Lakers are here for. It's alright, I like our demographic."

I don't like the syntax
“screwed up” implies an accident.
Daryl Morey would never accidentally screw up someone’s bird rights. Whatever happened is exactly what he wanted to happen.
How many Biletnikoffs does he have? NOT TWO!

lol if i remember what actually happened …. he didn evven give the rockets a chance to sign him or negotiate, but what does it matter he and kobe can go hug each other behind closed doors

Wow just 3 months ago you guys were head over heels in love with this man
when he led you to game 6 victory over Portland and delivered for your franchise what Yao and Tracy and everyone else have not been able to do for 13 years.
Now you guys hate his guts. All ron wants is a ring for himself along w/ some media attention, and now you guys hate him for it.

dont hate him for wanting a ring.
i dont blame him. if l.a is where he wants to play go for it.
we kinda jaded because hes been such an idiot after leaving.
he started bad mouthing us first, not we him.
it was always kinda love/hate with crazy pills anyway.
cant really expect any better

never said "hate"
I still love Artest. I’ve posted that many times.
But that doesn’t mean I have to agree with everything he says or does.
and bitching about supposed “Bird rights” is ridiculous.

Who said they hate Artest
I love the guy. I think his quirkiness was hilarious. I also liked him on the court like 85% of the time. He’s a funny guy that has a screw loose

I do't hate Artest,
but the guy whose nickname is “Crazy Pills” IS, indeed, crazy.

Also, I think he probably has enough media attention.
Just maybe. Does he really need more?
