Jermaine Taylor signs deal
Jermaine Taylor signed a multi-year contract with the Rockets on Wednesday.
Taylor was selected with the 32nd overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft out of Central Florida.
We'll see what happens with Chase Budinger and James White, who will be competing for a roster spot with Taylor.
Though it's annoying, tedious, and anything of that nature, the fact that FanPosts must be 75 words is absolutely necessary. See? Didn't this last paragraph, which qualified me for 75 words, convince you?
No cursing in title. No pirated material, such as links to online game streams. Thanks.

What happened to Budinger??…he played ALOT better than Jermaine did. I trust Morey but I hope he signs Chase somewhere in the future…

What about Chase?
1)He’s going to be Greened and packaged as part of a trade that’s coming or
2)Taylor is in Hou working along w/Hayes and Dorsey so it easier to get a deal done w/him or
3)Taylor was drafted before Budinger so he gets his deal first.

?
Why is it that we signed a guy who is still competing for a spot on the roster? How exactly does that work? Because if he doesn’t make the roster then we still have to pay him right?

Rockets own his rights, don't they?
So he can’t just go sign elsewhere. Is there a reason we need to get him under contract now? I guess the benefit is that even if he doesn’t make the team, we wrap him up cheaply for up to 4 years, can park him in the D-league, and hopefully he’ll produce eventually?

I'm still hoping we get Chase this year
He seems to be a guy who can produce right away. Maybe we will get both of them …

since the Rockets have
about 3 million of the MLE left, and I doubt Budinger really wants to go to Europe, he’ll probably be signed at some point.

on the 15 man roster?

If we sign both...
we’ll have to cut one player (Cook, Barry, White?) before the season starts.

just because
Someone has a better summer league doesn’t mean they’re gonna be a better player long term. If morey signs jermaine befor chase, I trust it.

So
wafer is looking less likely now then?
Not that there has been much chatter on his signing else where anyway

according to a thread over at clutchfans
(and an italian news report) Von has apparently signed with Olympiakos in Greece. $5 million/year for two seasons. That’s a lot more than any team was going to offer him in the NBA.
He’s a good fit for Euroleague, I think. He doesn’t defend, and it seems like he’d be comfortable in a more up-tempo environment.
